Indian IT firms are heading for a fall
Last edited Fri Apr 6, 2012, 06:59 AM USA/ET - Edit history (2)

India's IT companies are now learning.

Three of India's largest IT outsourcing firms, Infosys Technologies, Larsen & Toubro InfoTech and Tata Consultancy Services, are involved in lawsuits filed against them by current and former employees.

And then comments like this:

1. Hillary pushes for more H-1b

2. "They can't operate in this country without work visas, such as H-1B and L-1 visas."

Sure they can, they just have to hire Americans. Back when I was still operating under the delusion that I could continue a career in the field, I called a developer that I taught and given a reference to before, if he could point me to someone in his new company (Infosys) because I was looking for a job.

He laughed, hung up and I never heard from him again.

3. but, but, I thought you were 'privilaged'?!?

didnt you tell that to the guy on the phone?

i think you're just in denial of that privilage, if you couldnt see it in that interaction

4. And he is an Indian, therefore all this is his fault.

But wait, I'm certain that it was his programming superpowers* that were the reason a mere mortal, such as myself, isn't "qualified" to do those jobs.

*A partner & myself had to spend hours of our own time teaching this "top tier graduate" of the awesomely better Indian tech schools such arcane cyber-knowledge as the mod and how to use it.

First of all...

...this is a breathtaking degree of vitriol leveled at people over the mere basis of race/ethnicity.

"Those damn, dirty foreigners stole my job!" is suppose to be the purview of FR.

I haven't heard this level of racial animosity from a liberal since--well--yesterday when Marion Barry popped-off.

But here's what I really don't understand:

Supposedly immigration is good for the country, so much so the dems want 20 million illegals added to the rolls and doles. These 20 million aren't even skilled. They're menial labor; dishwashers, landscapers...kpete's domestic help, etc.

If you oppose the 20 million you're a racist or something.

But here are these fine folk from India who are giving people a job at something other then praying to cows and collecting their shit to burn for cooking fuel. India is becoming an economic and regional superpower. The country is propsering. It doesn't have ambitions of conquest (like DU's buddies in Iran and Venezuela). They're decent people...as humans go. Certainly none of that honor killing-female genital mutilation shit we're always reading about.

Moreover, when they come here for H1B visas--THEY'RE COMING HERE ON A VISA!! That means they're here LEGALLY.

It's actually a form of immigration conservatives AREN'T bitching about.

And they're brown too.

So why is DU so racist?
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Infosys and Tata have been in trouble before regarding H-1Bs.  They are hardly typical companies when it comes to hiring immigrants.  Most employers really want to hire the best employee, and most foreign employees are graduates of US colleges.

New H-1B applications are filed starting on April 1st, but those employees can't begin working as H-1B employees until October 1st, so most employers prefer hiring recent graduates who have a education based Employment Authorization Document (EAD). Laws mandate that H01B employees be paid the average salary for there job in the area where they are employed, so it can be more expensive to employ non-immigrant employees, and they are only allowed to work in the US for 6 years without a Green Card application being filed, and H-1B employees cannot exceed a certain percentage of the workforce unless the employer wants to face and even more difficult process.

I've never heard of a recent American graduate with a degree in engineering being passed by for an Indian with similar credentials.

I worked as an Immigration paralegal for 5 years and the employees I filed petitions for were well educated people who genuinely wanted to work hard and live in the US.

Indians are very hard working, industrious, and smart. Indians also don't need or want the government. The National Socialist Democrat Party has stated that it's OK to put the overt hate on them (ask slow Joe about that).  Asians are OK to hate too. Just don't go near the 39% of the black community that lives off welfare or the 12% of blacks in civil service that live of the government but at least pretend to work.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Didn't Hillary also  make some comment about Indians working at convenience stores or something like that?

Red dot Indians, yes. Woowoo Indians, not so much.

But they need to keep their dirty shops out of Marion Barry's ward in D.C.

You're missing the main point here...the party of the KKK has no problem with illegal immigrants that "know their place."  As long as they are doing minimum wage, hard labor jobs, they are just fine.  It's only when uppity immigrants take good jobs that they are a problem.

That was Biden.

How about both, sort of, and throw John "Effin" Kerry in there, too.

Quote
"Joe Biden has a history of making insensitive and inappropriate remarks," said Dr. Vijay. "But even for him, this recent gaffe is clearly over the top."

Dr. Vijay pointed out that this wasn't the first time a Senate Democrat has insulted Indian Americans. In 2004, Senator John Kerry referred to Sikhs as terrorists and Senator Hillary Clinton jokingly referred to Mahatma Gandhi as a gas station owner.
