I'm just guessing here but... I would be willing to bet that when Scott started NU, he chose not to invite CUers en masse for fear that doing so would have been perceived as an attempt to crush CU by stealing its members.

Actually, sir, Scott's wife and I never got along, after she made the comment about BadCat being the last person she ever wanted to meet in real life.

I took that personally, and hard.  BadCat's a nice guy, the salt of the earth.

Hey Frank, I think you have Melissa (one who I am assuming dissed BC) and Melanie (Scott's wife and a true sweetheart who is here by the way) confused.

By the way, you NEVER call Melissa, "Mel", but it's ok to call Melanie that.
If you want to worship an orange pile of garbage with a reckless disregard for everything, get on down to Arbys & try our loaded curly fries.

I dunno; it was a woman with an "M," like Melanie or Marjorie or Melissa or something like that.

And a woman with authority.

This was in one of the silly lounge threads about which members one would most like to meet in real life.

Sometime the winter-spring of 2005-2006.

I thought Melissa was Scott's wife, and that Melanie was a refugee from Skins's island.

Oh well,  It was long ago.

But insults to BadCat (and others) remain engraved in stone, in this head.
apres moi, le deluge

Milo Yiannopoulos "It has been obvious since 2016 that Trump carries an anointing of some kind. My American friends, are you so blind to reason, and deaf to Heaven? Can he do all this, and cannot get a crown? This man is your King. Coronate him, and watch every devil shriek, and every demon howl."

The guilty party would definitely be Melissa and she is not Scott's wife.

I am only clarifying because I hold Melanie (Scott's wife) in high regard.

Well, she wasn't real high up on my list of people I'd like to meet either.

Even I forget which one it was.

'Jealousy' - you have to be used to it by now. People like us are always targets of lesser individuals.  :evillaugh:

My wife had a friend like you for a while.  This friend was always coming up with excuses for getting naked together. My wife sent her on her way shortly.

It wasn't long before this friend left her husband and moved in with some woman named Patsy.    :o

I think that even Badcat would admit that... uh... to borrow a phrase from Barack Obama... that his sermons can get a little rough.

Melissa is one of the more disagreeable people I have met online. To defend her as some wilting flower who finds badcat 'rough' is laughable to an extreme. :whatever:

Can you be any more obvious?

I still think I never got an invite because Scott's wife dislikes, or disliked, BadCat.

And I, still a newbie at the other place, yelled at her for it.

We're all known by the company we keep.

LOL Frank, I was calling Schade out for her obvious sucking up skills.   :-*

Well I think this has outlived it's usefulness in GD.  I'm bumping it down to the Lounge.

Edit:  Sorry that took so long...  got caught up in a discussion about Sea Fog.  I'll save you all the boring details.

I know...  I have a hard time keeping my priorities straight.  I mean, it's not like it's a hard choice.  This place, or keeping 1.5 billion dollars worth of Aircraft and 10,000 people safe.  Like that's a tough choice.   :-)
