Motherhood....
« on: May 11, 2008, 02:52:06 PM »
Today, even as I bust my ass to clean the house and prepare for my own mother to come for supper, I reflect on so many reasons to be thankful.

But this takes the prize.

My 9 year made a book for me. It was titled "A Mother's Day" book. It's your standard, I love mom because.... type book.

This one page made me  :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

My mom makes me laugh when she tells funny jokes.....

It's a picture of her sitting in front of the tv set and me standing beside her. I have a bubble that says "Clean your room! Oh, wait, it's already clean! Ha ha!" and the bubble from her says, "Ha ha! That is so funny mom!"

on edit: I think her room has been clean once in a blue moon.

Well, my son and his family just left.  I hated to see them go.  We had a great time.  They took me out to eat and we came back here to my house.  It's a rare visit.  Son's work schedule, the new baby (diapers and formula are outrageous!) and gas prices all factor into the reasoning.  Sad but true.

My grandson and I took a walk.  Everything and anything can be made into a learning experience.  I love sharing these times with him.  We found half of a robins egg laying in the grass.  He was amazed at the blue eggshell.  We picked some honeysuckles. Inhaling their fragrance he said he wanted to take them home to "make my room smell good".  I had made some small purchases at the dollar store especially for this visit.  He and his dad soon had foam airplanes zipping around my living room!  A box of crayons and a note pad became a quick study in the difference between a square and a rectangle.

I pulled out some old pics of my son during his high school years.  He was tickled to see them.  True Kodak moments.  Time frozen in the short milliseconds of the lens.  The expression on his face with the recalling of friends and football/baseball/track/wrestling memories, was priceless.  I'm glad I made time to dig some of those out.  I'm thankful also that digital cameras weren't available then.  Most of my pics now are not printed but stored on this computer.  Slackness on my part since I have an HP Photosmart all-in-one.  It's now on my list of things to do or at least convert them to CD's.

My sister was a bit miffed that we didn't come by her house and eat.  She was expecting a house full of extended family and had (I'm sure) a spread of delicious food prepared.  I ran the idea across my son.  He told me that this was MY mother's day and he wanted it to be just for me.  I was touched and it did my heart good to hear him say this.  I'm truly blessed.  Thank you Lord.

I wish everyone here a Happy Mother's Day.  May God continue to bless us in the abundance of the things and people we hold dear, shelter us in times of worry and hold us all in His gentle mercy.

Undies you've been on my mind considerably today.  I don't often see the tenderness that is within the male gender since the men I've known bottle up their emotions.  Please know that in RL some one out there thinks of you (and yours) and holds you in prayer.  I wish you peace, in mind and heart.
