lastlib is correct about one thing.  The majority of the lottery players are the type that can least afford it. I know you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover so to speak but many of the people I see standing in line to get or redeem lotto tickets Look like they don't have a pot to pee in much less afford to spend the $20 or $50 or more on lotto tickets.

I think state lotteries are great - The short of it is they serve as voluntary tax revenue, which I'm behind 100%.

Because if they draw say 540 sets of numbers? there could possibly be tens of thousands of people with the winning numbers, so people would be thousandaires instead of millionaires.
