GOP Infighting
« on: March 23, 2012, 10:21:35 AM »
I was disappointed with Santorum's comment that Obama would be better than Romney for next term. I think this an irresponsible statement. The GOP should come down hard on Santorum to discourage this type of campaigning. Stick to the issues, so whoever the GOP candidate is, he doesn't have to spend time and money recovering from damage done by his own party.

You're not going to get an argument from me. AFAIC, that was the death knell (so to speak) for Santorum.

I Concur. Rick pretty much closed the door on his participation in any national level politics.

Then how is it that Dr Nutz is still participating when he's all but told his cult followers to sit this one out if he ain't the nominee?

I hope one day the GOP wises up and realizes that we'll never win with antics like this. This happens every time! Giving liberals more ammo is no way to help the party overall. That mindset (helping the party overall) should be required. I don't know how....but wouldn't it be nice if we were that smart!

Pray for a brokered convention.....IMOP, it's the best chance we got for a truly conservative candidate.

It is bad enough they do stupid things when they are running for office but when they get in there, it is even worse. Democrats outsmart them at every turn. The budget deficit is a good example. The Repubs get peanuts in cuts and give up billions in spending. Same thing happened to daddy Bush. Raise taxes now and cut way off in the future that NEVER happen. How dumb can they be to fall for that crap every time.

Well it just shows Rick isn't up to the task of being a nominee let alone president. I wish we could have a do over. My dream team was Palin/West. Both are competent leaders and I really wanted to see the left try and twist themselves into knots trying to NOT show how sexist/racist they really are while trying to prove those to are sexist/racist.

Because he and they are nutz and nobody takes them seriously anyway.

Santorum should know better.

Now with extra padding.

Rubio would be best, followed by West and Palin. Hate to say it but even Jeb would be better than the two front runners.

While I'd really rather he stayed in the senate, Jim DeMitt, VP West/Palin/anybody.

Rubio is too green. Love him as a Veep. Palin would get clobbered, even though I love her.

I have a feeling if there is a brokered convention, then we'll be hearing Jeb Bush's name tossed around.

While I agree with that choice, Jindal has many Hindus really mad at him for changing his religion. Some Hindus told my wife this when she worked at the hospital full time.

He shouldn't have said that, but he isn't entirely wrong, either.  As far as Mitt and the general election goes (Post shaking his platform position Etch-a-Sketch to new picture), the phrase "Why vote for Obama Lite when you could have the real thing" does have a core of truth to it.

Jindal is not a fiscal conservative. I voted for him. One of his first acts was to tighten the rules of government mismanagement. The legislature agreed to clean up their own house in exchange for doubling their salaries. The legislature is already the 2nd highest paid in the South. Jindal was not going to sign it cause he did not want his name on it. In LA, if a bill is not signed by the governor, it becomes law in so many days. The public was outraged and he vetoed. Jindal has added/hired hundred of Non classified employees to the payroll making $100K to over $200k. He has cut education, state employees and hospitals (in other words the low hanging fruit) and has not cut his bloated staff or agency heads with their high salaries. I had high hopes for him but he is just another wheeler and dealer politician.
