Imagine for a moment that Skinner forms a posse of DU-ers to go after a candidate for local office in a small town nearby because he hates the candidate's politics.

Well, there's maybe 12,500 residents of Ward 1, a number that includes those too young to vote, those too incompetent to vote, and those who aren't interested in voting.

I dunno how many that leaves; maybe circa 8,000.

And many of those 8,000 (or whatever the number is) live with at least one other voter in the ward, in, maybe, 3,000 residences.

The big guy printed up way too many flyers.

But he doesn't care; it wasn't his money, but the primitives'--other people's--money he spent.

In one of my volunteering activities on a campaign once, we personally mailed out the literature to friends and acquaintences in the relevant area.  The idea was to hand-address the envelope and jot a personal note, signing your real name and everything.  It's like a yard sign--a personal and public endorsement of a candidate.  You just need some friends.

I know!  At www.electstevedawes.com, there's a handy tab grouping Steve's friends all together.  These pals could be recruited for a mailing campaign like we did!

I have been following the threads on this man even though I live way on the other side of the country.

What can a socialist do for their comunity but to rile up the very business owners that support the comunity, and disrupt the Capitalest way of life.  

I have yet to see him running on a platform to improve the lives of the people, more jobs and perhaps find a way to  to bring in more revenue to his area through ideas that are thought up by experts to make not just his area but the whole city a magnet for tourists and family that move in with a growing work population.

This Man would not spend a day on any City Council  most anywhere where towns are scrambling for new business--- Union Free----to help find jobs for those that wish to work.

Perhaps I read it incorrectly but is Old Town being torn down to put up a couple gas stations and a few 7/11 ?

Insanity, the possibility of Restoration and the history behind it, will draw more money from all sources.  People crave History in all ways, personal or just curiosity.  

Yes I have not been educated in today's socialism, seen what it did in Russia, South America and Cuba. Seen what it has done in the last 40 years to America, taken the spunk out of people to make it on their own, removed responsibility's off the backs of those that most need it.

Funny thing, the rise in Socialism seems to in some ways make more money for the adherents then the Capitalists that made our country the envy of the world.

There's nothing stopping anyone from xeroxing a thousand or so fliers and putting them where it would piss people off.

Glue some to business windows.

Litter a local park with a few hundred. (temporary as they're biodegradable)

Stick em on windshields on vehicles that are parked in front of peoples homes.

Tape em to shelves in grocery and drug stores.

Put one in each washer and dryer in the laundry mat. (dedicated to Pam)

Put em in places that would piss people off.

Yep.

The big guy printed up about three times the flyers he needed.

But he doesn't care; it's other people's money--the primitives' money--that paid for them.

That is, unless he ran those photocopies off at the waterworks when the boss wasn't looking.

Again, other people's money, in this case the taxpayers of Omaha subsidizing a political campaign in a suburb.

I'm waiting to see if any of the big guy's campaign material has the union label on it.

I'm not so sure about that.

He has three opponents.

As I understand it, the top two finishers in the May 15 election advance to the general election in November.

In 2008, both candidates for the Ward 1 council seat in the November general election were Republicans, and that may happen again this year.

The May 15 primary is technically non-partisan, with party affiliation listed only for the information of voters.

If he racks up his customary last-place finish, this hilarious campaign will be over, and the stage will be cleared for nadin to resume dominance.

I'm sure the people we have watching Socialist Steve in real life, up close and personal, will correct me if I'm wrong.
