That doesn't make any difference. They give thumbs up or down to new businesses coming to the city, set ordinances that are either business friendly or not, and ditto for the commercial tax rates.

A non-business friendly candidate for city council isn't going far in a red state. OS attacking businesses over union issues is VERY germane to his candidacy.

If any body has run any body out of town in the last 40 years it's been the unions. Why do you think the major packing houses left? The Great River Horse (Dawes) talked about being a paid picket for the UFCW union against Hinky Dinky. Where is Hinky Dinky now? I know for a fact that while Dawes was being paid to picket the union butchers continued to work while other unions didn't, to honor their strike. Dawes is a mindless radical.

Not when it isn't in the city he is running for office. The point is he keeps talking about issues that are not relevant to the city of Bellevue. In fact he hasn't said one thing online or has anything been written in print what he stands for. His opponets are already talking about what and where they stand. Walmart is in Bellevue. Anti-business is a political killer. The city council oversees public union contracts, of course they would care.

A huge difference. When private businesses are afflicted with a union, contracts are negotiated between union thugs one one side, and management on the other. The career and livelihood of the management people depend on a contract that allows the business to make a profit and survive.

In the case of public unions, contracts are negotiated between union thugs on one side, and politicians on the other. When the politicians are democrat, their interest is in gaining support of the union thugs in the next election. Taxpayers are forced to foot the bill for whatever the union thugs want. When a politician like the governors of Wisconsin and Ohio try to contain costs, they're vilified by the unions, the press, and the rest of the democrat machine.
