What % of those Hispanic registered voters who don't have an id actually vote, because the number would drop dramatically I would imagine. 

The state just needs to break down that data.   Voting records are public documents.  So are records of individuals who have a state issued ids.   Do your homework Texas.

The DOJ is suing/blocking the Texas law in order for them to prove a negative, specifically:

And as you are well aware, you cannot disprove a negative.  Sorry, but the burden of proof should be on the DOJ that this IS in fact discriminatory and that DOJ, not the state, needs to back up their assertions with facts.

I've always been asked for pic ID before I get a voting ballot ?  Majority of the time that person knows me.

If you don't want to get a state ID or If you cannot afford an ID card, how about we let you go down to the local precinct in your district and pick up a free copy of your rap sheet.

This will carry all pertinent information such as photo, proof of address and anything else that may or may not be required by your local election board. :rotf:

It unquestionably is, since states are given the Constitutional authority to hold their own elections. Further, since some states CAN have voter ID laws (such as IN, among others) without getting DOJ approval, it could be argued that citizens of the states that are required to get DOJ approval do not enjoy equal protection under the law that their vote will count.
