Florida Wounded Warrior gets surprise visit from Tim Tebow

As a former Ranger myself .. I am a 'new', know nothing about football today .. Tim Tebow fan!  :yahoo:

Friday night was all about celebrating a hero, as the warrior from the gridiron honored a wounded warrior from the battlefield. And what a surprise U.S. Army Ranger Romy Camargo got.

"That was awesome!," Camargo said after getting a surprise visit by Tebow at the A La Carte Pavillion in Tampa. Camargo and his wife are super-fans of Tim Tebow.

"I couldn't believe it, I was like wow!," he said. "But I'm glad Gabby got to meet him, because she's a big fan."

His wife Gabriela by his side, both of them were stunned when Tebow rolled through the door.

"It's my pleasure man," Tebow said as he clasped Camargo's left hand.

When Tebow read about what Camargo had endured, getting shot in the neck and being left quadriplegic during a combat mission in Afghanistan, he wanted to meet the wounded soldier.

"He's a real, true-life hero," said Tebow. "So it's very special to have the chance to hang out with him...He's been an inspiration to a lot of people and he'll continue to be an inspiration to me and so many more, so it's real exciting to get a chance to meet him."

Tebow called Camargo a true American hero.

The media often call professional athletes "heros". Then, in turn they look for ways to denigrate our SSAM's. I never got that, hero for playing a game ? Denigrated for serving your country ? Maybe with people like Tim Tebow, the perspective will be re aligned to reality.
