TLC like the History Channel is owned by the NYT.
Yeah, History Channel only rarely has much of anything good, they seem to associate with a limited cadre of production companies that recycle the same stock footage from the national archives (Completely mislabelling what some of it is) again and again, with a large and unnecessary dose of modern promotional footage they got for free, and focused on the same very limited historical periods, over and over and over. Then they fill in with reality-type stuff (Some of it like Pawn Stars pretty good, but with only a passing relationship to history). Military channel is the same but with even more modern promo footage they got for free and equally-shaky technical information. With anything on WWII, both are about as chock full of ideological commentary as the "Why We Fight" movies instead of just sticking to history, to boot.
I have found some great stuff on early armored vehicles and Medieval/early modern battles on YouTube, English and European programming, that beats the shit out of the pap on HC, and which they've never shown and never will.
