Subject: Update - Loss of Coast Guard Aircraft 6535
To:

Shipmates,

I want to update you on the status of the crew of CG-6535.  I feel deep sorrow in reporting to you the crew members involved in this tragic accident are LCDR Dale Taylor, ASTC Fernando Jorge, and AET3 Andrew Knight from ATC Mobile and LTJG Thomas Cameron from AIRSTA Borinquen.  ASTC Jorge was recovered, but he did not survive.  The others remain missing.

These Coast Guardsmen were conducting training at the time of the accident, assuring our Nation is ready with fully qualified Coast Guard air crews who are ready to answer the call.  They exemplify our core values of Honor, Respect and Devotion to Duty.

I thank you for the outpouring of support and ask you to keep the crew members, their families and closest shipmates in your prayers.

Additional information will be passed when the details are available.

Stand a taut watch.  Semper Paratus.

Admiral Bob Papp
Commandant
