Quote
With a formal dinner for the few, President Barack Obama on Wednesday paid solemn tribute to the many.

The president, who opposed the Iraq war from its outset, thanked those who fought its battles by sitting down to a candlelit meal with a small cross section of the million-plus who served there over the past nine years.

Though the mood was reflective, the First Lady was caught looking rather grumpy at several points throughout the night.

Was it something he said? First Lady Michelle Obama looks quite upset during her husband's speech at a dinner thanking the men and women who served in the Iraq War as it reaches its ninth anniversary

Unimpressed: Even Vice President Joe Biden looked drained during the speeches at the event, where guests dined on aged rib-eye steak, potato croquettes and chocolate creme brulee

Tough talk: Mr Obama seemed exhausted after the speech, and was certainly not at his most friendly

I always have liked this site.  When he first got elected all the comments were wonderful towards him from the UK and the US and it was all green arrows.  Now the comments from the UK and the US are just hateful.  Things sure have changed in such a short amount of time  :whistling:

She looks like she's ashamed to be an American....again. Joe looks like someone propped his eyes open with toothpicks. And even though it comes quite naturally to him, lying takes a lot out of Obama.

Barry looks sooooo exhausted. You know, dealing with winter greens all the time is really hard. You have to really, truly, with gusto, whack the ball to get it to move!  :whatever:

When someone has given her a ScoobySnack in advance.

She is ashamed to be an American.  I'm ashamed that she actually is one.

I can see November 2 from my house!!!

Spread my work ethic, not my wealth.

Forget change, bring back common sense.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle
