Well, had a helluva good time day before yesterday
« on: February 17, 2012, 05:37:45 PM »
I had a stinkin' seizure!

Scared the livin' hell outa "Toots", and spent most of the next day in the frikkin' hospital!

Nuttin' I like better than havin' 4 EMS standin' over me when I wake up after 20 frikkin' minutes!!!

They changed my blood pressure medicine, and evidently I had a reaction with another med I take, the wrong reaction I might add! First time "Toots" has had to call for help in our 39 years and she didn't take it very well. Hell, I was in "Never Never Land", so it really didn't effect me very much. I'd just as soon not do it again though, but you get the idea!

I think she's OK, but she has told me not to do it to her again! (like I had a choice!) I guess I quit breathing a coupla times, so she was pretty upset.

With all these new meds out on the market, how ya 'sposed to know what works with what? As far as my Doc knows, it's never happened before to his knowledge so it might be just me.

At least I didn't get "anal seepage"!
I'm the guy your mother warned you about!

Holy shit.

How many different meds do you take?

AR, it'd be just like you to tease all of us with showing back up . . .

. . . and then having a major event happen, just to jerk all of our chains.

Whatever Toots says that you should do . . . do it!  She can pick up on things that you wouldn't even know are present.  My wife is the same way with me.  (Yes, it pisses me off that she's able to do this, but she's kept my ass out of a sling more than once.)

Oh wow! glad you're OK. The Doctor or the Pharmacist should know what meds react OK together and meds that don't.

I don't think it was specifically the meds. I got the dry heaves after takin' 'em, and that seems to be what caused it. The doc says there is a nerve that if you wretch to violently, it can cause it. Damn news to me! Don't know if maybe she's just coverin' her ass or what?

So glad that you're OK. Those seizures are scary, particularly for the spouse. SR also ended up in the hospital last May with them. It scared me half to death; he didn't remember anything about it.

Hopefully those docs will check for a cause other than a reaction to medication. Have you ever had a stroke or heart problems in the past? That can contribute. Here's hoping that it was the last of them. Stress can contribute, too, so stay cool, calm and collected. All our best to you.

Yeah, I thought "Toots" was never goin' to stop smackin' me and tellin' to never do it again!

The bummer is, they won't let me have my grand-kids until they're sure I'm done with them! Not makin' "Toots" very happy, but I have to watch the little one while she is at work.

I had a seizure once; standing in a dinner serving line at a church! Embarrassing to say the least. Doc said epilepsy. Turned out to be low blood sugar. Just another, and more common, cause to consider.

Interesting. Not to take anything away from AR but twice in the past two months I have collapsed at work . Not a lot of warning just a feeling of nausea and then I fell down. Just a brief blacking out and then hitting the floor/ground ?  I had the doc check it out the next day after the second one and he ruled out blood pressure or anything Diabetic . He said the next time it happens he;ll have to do a CAT scan which of course I can't pay for with no insurance. Not sure what it could be but if what AR says is true about pulling to starain on a nerve then that could be it.

Happy to hear you're back to normal. Not to get too far off tangent, but in the allelopathic world side effects of the first administered drug are well know, and well researched. Interactions between the second drug administered are less well known. For third and subsequent drugs you rapidly find yourself in completely uncharted territory. At that point it's almost becomes like alchemy.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

I take 5 different scripts every morning, so it could be a combination of all of them put together. Almost impossible to know. I started spacin' them out durin' the day to see if that will fix it.

Now if I could just figure out how to turn lead into gold, I'd have it made!

I am glad you are ok. I have heard  as well to stretch your medications throuout the day. Also, that you should take water or food with them. I would have a consult with your pharmacist. Hope "toots" is ok as well.

Count me in. The gold that is. I'll hold off on the drugs for awhile I hope.
