Quote
LANSING -- Michigan Democratic leaders settled today on a plan to give presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton 69 delegates and Barack Obama 59 as a way to get the delegates seated at the national convention

Clinton won the Jan. 15 Michigan primary and was to get 73 pledged delegates under state party rules, while Obama was to get 55. The state also has 29 superdelegates.

The state party’s executive committee voted today to ask the national party’s Rules and Bylaws Committee to approve the 69-59 delegate split when it meets May 31. The plan would shrink Clinton’s delegate edge in Michigan from 18 to 10 and allow the state’s 157 delegates and superdelegates to be seated at the convention.

cont.......

Under this plan, Hilary would win Mi. but lose the primary. This would put the total number needed to win the Democrat nomination within reach for Obama.
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

Ew, I don't care much for that plan.

I think the Democrats of Michigan should go back to the drawing-board.

I think Harold Dean or Dean Howard or whatever his name is, should stop thinking himself king of America, able to dictate to the representatives of the people of the various states about when they have to have their primaries.

Anything minus counting the votes is having the party bosses pick the candidate over the will of the rank and file.

OK, I never calimed to understand delegates, etc, but if HIllary won 73, she should get 73.   Explain to me how they could change it to 69.

What makes me laugh is when I read some moonbat proclaim the superdelegates must vote according to the "will of the people".  Isn't that the silliest idea?  If the superdelegates "must" vote in accordance to the "will of the people", what, pray tell, is their function to start?

If some perceived sense of propriety dictates how they must vote, therefore removing their sense of independence, they serve no purpose.  By definition, and by their very existence, superdelegates are a big "F*ck You" to the "will of the people".   It is a hilarious system which serves to prove that democrats really are nothing but rowdy children who cannot be trusted alone.

just like in 2000, the US is getting a civics lesson because our public school system doesnt teach this stuff anymore. i have honestly not known what super delegates were or their function until this election so that tells me that they operate in the shadows and didnt become a real issue until their two very weak candidates couldnt clinch their own parties nomination.

i think most Dems are as shocked as the rest of us that the super delegates hold this much power and how corrupt their entire system is proving to be. but we will still get the blame for their massive screw up. count on it.

This would be DEVASTATING to the dims and especially dean.

It means any and all "rules" they come up with are worthless -- and all the other states are going to move up their primaries and there is nothing that the party can do about it.

BUAHAHAHAHAHA!!!  This is deee-licious.

Game.  Set.  Match.  I can't see ANY liberal even trying to argue this and not look like a blithering idiot in the process.

C'mon, this is the same public education system that wants to give 14 year olds a "1/4 vote".

Democrat math, madam.

We've seen Democrat math before.
Their math "skills" are normally limited to calculating tax increases.  When it comes to counting votes accuracy doesn't really matter.

well, Hilary herself has been on both sides of the argument at this point.. she may have even found a third side.
