Reality Thread (Survivor/Big Brother/Amazing Race/ETC)
« on: February 16, 2012, 08:01:14 AM »
I thought since Survivor is starting up this would be a good time to start a continious thread on all the good reality shows.

Post any news or thoughts about any show you watch.  I even watch Jersey Shore and Teen Mom when I get a chance.

I would like to keep this going since I have no cable now and want to keep up on the gossip  :hyper:

----------------

so give me some Survivor gossip, I hear that someone broke their wrist, how did that happen?

I watch Mike Holmes' "Holmes on Homes" and "Holmes Home Inspection".

But I don't think anybody broke their wrist on the show -- even putting up drywall.

I used to watch "This Old House" but it pissed me off when I actually tried one of their projects and it didn't flow as easy as they showed it.

I love that show. Some of the shots they make are unreal!

And everyone on it is pretty professional and wicked good!  It's just a pleasure to watch them kick back doing what they really love - and they make it look easy.

I watch Survivor (not last night's yet), Big Brother, Celebrity Apprentice, The Amazing Race, and Tori & Dean (is that reality television? It's my (not-so) secret addiction).

My DVR is on fire starting this week and I will be downloading torrents to keep up because I can only record two shows at a time. I have issues. I can barely keep caught up and I refuse to watch television live. LOL

I plan to watch The Amazing Race. I love to hate Rachel and Brendon (formerly of Big Brother). No doubt they will bring the crazy and the drama this season.

Yea, I was just talking about Rachel and Brendon this morning. He will undoubtedly treat her like complete crap. I can't stand him. This past BB season, I grew to actually like her after Brendon left the house.

The one and only thing I like about the two of them together is they are extremely competitive, which means the new season of TAR is guaranteed to be wonderfully dramatic. Can't wait!

Me too! I was sooo pulling for her to win BB, which was something I never thought would happen. Together they suck. Which means CBS is thrilled. LOL.

I hate watching those "reality" cooking shows.  It's too much like work.

If you want the real thing, get a job at your nearest restaurant.  The abuse and vitriol is the same.

It was in the original cast reveal article.

Quote
'Survivor: One World' season 24 cast revealed

The term "sleeping with the enemy" may take on new meaning on the upcoming season of "Survivor: One World."

Instead of staking out their homes on opposite sides of the island in two team camps, all 18 contestants will reside together at one location this time around, host Jeff Probst told Entertainment Weekly.

“We wondered what would happen if we forced them to live together with no rules,” Probst said. “You can build one camp, two camps, not have any camps. Men can sleep over with the women, women can sleep over with the men, or you can never talk at all."

The teams will be divided evenly among the men and women, a throwback to a gimmick used on "Survivor: The Amazon" and "Survivor: Vanuatu."

Among the contestants who will take part in the adventure are Leif Manson, the show's first little person, and Colton Cumbie, a gay Republican with an evil streak.

"He doesn't know it, but he is a full-on villain," Probst said of the 21-year-old college student from Monroeville, Ala. "He's the devil and I don't even think he's disguised."

Sounds like the young schemer may give Russell Hantz and Boston Rob a run for their money.

Other contestants include Sports Illustrated swimsuit-model photographer Troy Robertson and plastic surgeon Greg Smith.

They insist on being called Troyzan and Tarzan, respectively.

And this season, the castaways won't have the benefit (and sometimes disadvantage) of having a returning survivor to help them along the way.
Also missing this season? Ozzy's favorite Redemption Island, which means that the tribal councils will once again hold a greater weight in eliminating the castaways each week.

But what the show is missing in off-the-island shenanigans, it will undoubtedly more than make up for in drama on the mainland.

“Survivor: One World” kicks off on Wednesday, Feb. 15.
