Founded by Brock in 2004 as a liberal counterweight to “conservative misinformation” in the press, Media Matters has in less than a decade become a powerful player in Democratic politics. The group operates in regular coordination with the highest levels of the Obama White House, as well as with members of Congress and progressive groups around the country. Brock, who collected over $250,000 in salary from Media Matters in 2010, has himself become a major fundraiser on the left. According to an internal memo obtained by TheDC, Media Matters intends to spend nearly $20 million in 2012 to influence news coverage.

Donors have every reason to expect success, as the group’s effect on many news organizations has already been profound. “We were pretty much writing their prime time,” a former Media Matters employee said of the cable channel MSNBC. “But then virtually all the mainstream media was using our stuff.”

...

Media Matters soon became more sophisticated in its campaigns against non-liberal cable news anchors. Lou Dobbs, then of CNN, was a frequent target.

“As part of the Drop Dobbs campaign,” explains one internal memo prepared for fundraising, “Media Matters produced and was prepared to run an advertisement against Ford Motor Company on Spanish Language stations in Houston, San Antonio, and other cities targeting its top selling product, pick-up trucks, in its top truck buying markets.”

Ford pulled its advertising from Dobbs’s program before the television ad aired, but Media Matters kept up its efforts, working primarily with Alex Nogales of the National Hispanic Media Coalition, and with the League of United Latin American Citizens, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund and other self-described civil rights groups.

I love the saw, "Self described civil rights groups".
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Ah yes,David Brock, a 'journalist' who took it into his head to make money.  And you can take that any way you want.

A reasonable recitation on Brock:

F&F had a nice little story this morning about how Brock was running around DC with an ARMED bodyguard.

Whoops.

Never say never.     At this stage of the game of who with the most money becomes our leader, don't matter what  qualifications they have or who their loyalty is to, America or Kenya, anyone can become a target for those that are buying our country through the President.

This is no longer a country where a leader is chosen by the people to lead Americans, we are now into the 12 century where the one with the wealth rules.  Don't matter if the leader is crazy, or senile, who has the most money rules.

I remember when JFK was running and all the talk about him being Catholic and to elect him would put the Pope in charge.

Today we worry about a Mormon that could become our leader.    We at present have 1/4 of the country that believes our sitting President is Muslim.

We had Jimmy Carter a Good Christian that took his faith into the White House and by his faith stuck to it to ignore the 200 years of policy's and traditions of foreign relations.  We got to see what his good intentions led us to. He forgot that when in Rome do as they do.

Money and faith will not make a leader.  Some helps perhaps but the thing is, who is going to lead us with no thought of their own safety, a leader that gives no thought to the next 4 years, a leader that can come down hard on the very people in money and religion that supported him in the first place as the country comes becomes before them, their lives and fortunes.

Our forfathers for example that put all that on the line for America.

We need a leader from the old time, the Warriors who know war and how to defend America, We need a leader that  can make snap judgements and go full steam ahead.

I have no problem thinking that Americans that have money and press coverage may need body guards to move about freely today, heck, foreign interests may want to off them if they get in the way of their controll of our government.----Just how much of America is OWNED lock stop  and barrel by foreign company's.

Very complicated today, Back when you Sparky were a kid you were taught that Any citizen could become president are gone.  Sure, [IF]  you could have had you access to billions of dollars, were all this money CLEAN money, not a chance in hell ??

Armed body guards mean for anyone a threat to someone is a probability, why from whom??? Only way to get enemy's this strong is to be a threat to them for good reason.

Things I have gotten out of the debates so far are a bunch of rich men that have not a hair on their butt to break away from the PC and make a strike at our security problems.     They yammer about on internal problems that will solve themselves in time but none of them stood up, waved a sword over their head and yelled, Protect America.

Not one would call for defence of America, not one pointed out our threats to our people or our Constitution. Show me one that showed any interest in keeping the country free from the barbarians invading from the South not a one mentioned the Muslim insurgencies on changing our laws to theres.

***** footed men, that are emasculated by PC. Not one real man among them except Cain that still walked the line he was suppose to.  Anyone that has money and access to the press is a threat to thousands, more then 2-3 body guards are needed.

Fear of military  take over is rubbish, we have had military leaders that gave the nation strength in the past.  Once the so called leaders came in, the tender foots and the squeamish arrived now we have Obama, and the people wanting to unseat him are just as bad if not worse.

It is better to die on your feet then to die on your knees to worship and embrace the loss of the liberty and see our Constitution burned with the flag that traitors do today.

Rant on and off subject ended for now------

Inside Media Matters: Sources, memos reveal erratic behavior, close coordination with White House and news organizations
By Tucker Carlson, Vince Coglianese, Alex Pappas and Will Rahn - The Daily Caller Published: 10:02 PM 02/12/2012

This is the first in a Daily Caller investigative series on Media Matters For America. Daily Caller reporters Alex Pappas and Will Rahn contributed to this report.

David Brock was smoking a cigarette on the roof of his Washington, D.C. office one day in the late fall of 2010 when his assistant and two bodyguards suddenly appeared and whisked him and his colleague Eric Burns down the stairs.

Brock, the head of the liberal nonprofit Media Matters for America, had told friends and co-workers that he feared he was in imminent danger from right-wing assassins and needed a security team to keep him safe.

The threat he faced while smoking on his roof? “Snipers,” a former co-worker recalled.

Well said.

I guess she didn't realize Brock is a low life double dealing fudge packer not a democrat candidate.

And what is so surprising about a sniper looking to take out someone smoking on the roof top?  I would think the libs would call that swift justice. :yahoo:

Brock has an extremely overinflated opinion of himself. If he had any humility he would know the worst anyone would want to do would be to spit on him.

Well, to be fair, even completely rational people do have problems making that distinction, from time to time.

You are right on course with that.  I am so ashamed.   :thatsright:
