The only time I've ever been rappelling was on a 100-foot rock face.  I lost my footing and slipped halfway down, landing on my bare hand and forearm before stopping.

I have nothing else to add.  I just posted this because I'm bored. I'm pretty sure I also sliced the shit out of my finger that week, too.  :p

But, nope you missed both my baby sister and me coming through Ft. Riley, since her Advanced Camp adventure was in '81.  Those summers are brutal up there. :bawl:

You and I are close to the same age.  :old: There are days when I could use a cane. It's not the years, dammit, it's the miles!

I work at Ft Riley now as a civilian; I think the summers are great, but I feel the winters more than I did as a young Pup. I may have to transfer to a Southern post before long.

You should consider Ft. Huachuca.  I've had to wear a coat three times this winter. :-)

I've been looking at Ft Bliss and Ft Sam Houston, with Ft Hood rounding out my list. I don't know why, but I hadn't thought of Ft Huachuca. I would like it there.

It's sort of a joke. The SEALS have not been able to confine her to a single team. She serves whichever group is closest to the action at any given time. Whenever they need a mentally-ill, morbidly obese, obnoxious female mexican, nutcase nadin is on the spot.
