The Omaha Weeper Does It Again
« on: February 03, 2012, 11:04:53 PM »
Steve Dawes, the self-professed socialist running for city council in Bellevue, Nebraska, makes a curious post.

Drawing on your experience observing DUmpmonkeys, see if you can decipher what motivated this thread:

Omaha Steve (31,149 posts)

Don't watch Contagion for the first time when your sick

I only have a real bad cold, but...

http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Contagion-Blu-ray/29435/

It wasn't a great film no matter what.

First, of course, you have to set aside the jarring, glaring, irritating misuse of the word "your".

Then it becomes clear. If the Weeper were a woman, this thread would be about a new pair of Jimmy Choo shoes.

If the Weeper were Pam Dawson, this thread would describe a problem with the new Glock, or plans for a cruise.

Yep, the Omaha Weeper wants all his fellow DUmpmonkeys to know that, as an accessory to the fancy new widescreen TV he recently bragged about, he has a brand-new Blu-ray player. They don't, and they never will.

Poor, poor, stupid DUmmies. No cable TV, no landline telephone, no this, no that, and here's the Omaha Weeper, socialist Steve Dawes, gaming the disability system and racking up one extravagant luxury after another.

The poor, poor, stupid DUmmies shouldn't have their noses rubbed in all that brilliant Blu-ray sharpness on a new widescreen. Poor DUmmies.

A dedicated socialist like Steve Dawes should be watching over-the-air TV, on a black-and-white set with rabbit ears.

I wonder if the ocupoopers can do anything about that. They should look into it.

I'll bet Asher Heimermann doesn't brag about his Blu-ray player.

Hmmm.

I thought maybe Chief Crying Papoose just wanted to point out his being ill.

The big guy has none of the fortitude and stoicism of his great-great-great-great-grandmother, who walked the Trail of Tears, the ancestress who gave him the 1/64th of himself that's Native American instead of Polish or Irish.  She was way far more of a man than this bawl-baby descendant of hers.

I see this differently. He building a series of posts pointing out how sick he is...
He's planning to pull out of his race for city concil, and its like an inevitable engine of disease.
"Contagion" is a code word. His cold will be upgraded in a future post to read, "Thats not a cold! Steve has the great galloping Pnemonia, a strange equestrian illness that always lasts until november, and requires a disability gravy train to cure.

However, GOBUCKS may be right; Chief Blubbering Horse does like to brag about all the stuff he has.

Never mind that others can't have the same stuff; as long as my fellow Nebraskan's got his, all's okay with the world.

The  :bawl: is all show and no go.  What are the odds his candidacy doesn't make it through the month?

I suspect that it is a combination of both.  He needs both the envy and the pity.

Actually, it's a nice little lesson in how perceptions are formed.

GOBUCKS, and most others here, is up on all the latest things, and probably watches television and movies, and so understands the significance of the "blu-ray" thingamajig, including that it's pretty expensive, and possibly a status symbol.

franksolich, about whom it's been said he's in both the eighteenth century and the twenty-second century, but not this current one, had to nadin "blu-ray" to learn what it was, and so ignored that, perceiving instead that Omaha's Ed Norton was looking for some sympathy; the big guy has a little cold.

And unsurprisingly, both conclusions about Chief Bawling Papoose's motives, arrived at from totally different directions, are probably right on the money, both of them.

3. When my sick what...

"Don't watch Contagion for the first time when your sick" Or did you mean "you're"?

Would a "I didn't like this movie thread" go better in the 'entertainment' group or maybe the lounge?

I thought Obamanaut was smarter than that.

This thread had nothing to do with the movie review.

If he posted it in one of those backwater forums, lots of DUmmies wouldn't know he has a new Blu-ray player.

I'm in for the long haul. I have a winning issue that is staying under wraps until April.

Damn I can't wait for April and see what his winning issue is.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Hopefully he will come over here and hone his debating skills in April.

Naw, he would rather hear the echo of his socialist agenda from mindless DUmbasses, than have a constructive, critical review of his election platform.

As for having a winning issue, I suspect it will be more of a "whining" issue.

I kinda doubt it will be his lifelong support of socialism.

Maybe he'll announce formation of Occupoop Bellevue.
