Reid: Senate will not pass a budget this year

Senate Democratic leaders do not plan to propose a budget this year, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told reporters Friday, saying that they had already done so with the debt-ceiling agreement.

Democrats have said that the agreement reached to raise the debt ceiling set spending for Fiscal Year 2012.

“Budget Control Act spending caps, crafted behind closed doors and rushed to passage at the 11th hour under threat of panic, do not even approach the definition of the budget process that the law requires. They are not in any way or any sense a Senate Democrat budget plan. There is no argument that can be made that these caps are a long-term vision for this country—not on taxes, not on entitlements, not on spending, not on debt,” Jeff Sessions (R-AL) said.

I won't go that far, but I wouldn't mind if he retired.

In the real world, if an employee fails to do his or her job they are fired.  Too bad the assclowns in the senate don't live in the real world.

Translation: the do-nothing Congress is going to, well, do NOTHING.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but don't all spending bills originate in the HOUSE?  I mean, I can see getting pissed if Boehner doesn't at least submit a bill if it's his duty to do so, but for Reid to basically say any spending bills that get to the Senate won't even be voted on is frankly unconscionable.

...And his job is to make damned sure it doesn't, so Obama can whine and snivel about Congress not passing a budget while the two of them conspire to ensure it doesn't.

Actually, Schmucky Schumer is going to run against Dingy Harry Reid for Minority Leader, if the Senate Dems do wind up in the minority.  So, I kinda hope Dingy Harry becomes a backbencher.

If they were to pass a budget, they might have to cut out some of the government freebies. God forbid they cut off the freebies in an election year...all the democrats get thrown out on their asses and Obama gets one vote...his...even Moochelle will vote against him when she finds out the free ride is over.

Chuck the Schmuck would probably be worse, he has an ego the size of Mt. McKinley and a total NYC Lib point of view, including the normal complete absence of the ability to recognize the rest of the country is not NYC.
