My boss "watched a few minutes" of the SOTU
So, I asked, "Which few minutes and what did you hear?"

Him, "I don't remember. It's all just words. He hasn't done anything and I don't expect him to."
Me, "He hasn't done anything? Okay. But, when you say you don't expect him to, do you mean that you expect him to try, but he'll run into GOP obstruction on even the most basic and simple bills?"
Him, "I don't know what you're talking about."

My boss "thinks" he's a Libertarian (he has no clue what it means). I told him that when I was little, the SOTU was damn near the only thing on except for PBS. My father made me watch it and discuss it when it was over. I told my boss that it's a shame that people just don't give a shit anymore and, yet, they're still allowed to vote.

He just shrugged his shoulders.  This is the same guy that doesn't pay any attention to politics until "two or three weeks before an election" and then bitches for the rest of the year.

I need a damned hug...or a drink. Has anyone else had this experience today?

8. Thank you!

He's not really an asshole, just uninformed. I push him to pay closer attention and sometimes it works. Other times, I just get really irritated and tell him to make sure he votes third party.

6. We've known each other for 20 years.

I've worked for him for 12. We talk about everything, so it's not like a "real" boss, more like an annoying brother.

9. It's not like that.

I'm smarter than he is and he knows it. He normally appreciates my input, even though he may not agree. I've introduced him to the world of fact checking, which he found amazing.

Would you want one of your employees going around on the internet, talking about you that way?

You don't honestly believe that self-aggrandizing bullshit, do you?

For being the smarterest and mostest talentedest they sure have lost at life's game of success.  Funny how that works.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Why am I getting the feeling that "the boss" is the night shift asst. supervisor at a fastfood joint. :???:

So, just what did you think of Biden's facts in his VP debate against Palin?  You must know that ole' Plugs didn't come anywhere near a fact during the course of the debate, right?

How about Obama's claim to saving or creating hundreds of thousands of jobs?  You know, the one that even the most liberal economist said could not be quantified?

People who talk about how much smarter they are than their boss almost never become the boss.

It's one of the hallmarks of a born loser (or, as they'd write it, "a born looser").

Sure would like to find out where the idiot works. But then these people badmouth everyone to puff up their own egos. I shouldn't be surprised, I suppose, but it still amazes me how crass & classless they can be. Bet there are plenty of people who would love his job and NOT badmouth the boss.

They constantly bitch and moan about the repugs blocking everything, when for the first 2 years the democrats ran all 3 houses, if only 0bama could have got his party in line those 2 years he would have gotten 100% instead of 90% of what he wanted. Now the GOP holds the house and they are doing what the left was wanting the dems to do to Bush, and are crying like babies.

0bama has had 3 years and there is not even one sign of improvement and the voters will blame him this fall.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Twice as many people watched the Giants/49'ers game which was only on 1 channel as opposed to watching the SOTU which was on how many channels?

If there is any truth at all to this bouncy the boss probably did watch the SOTU and formed his own opinions. He just didn't want this bore to try to lecture him with lefty talking points again. Probably a lot more indulgent then I would be.

While it's on the subject. I heard today that Sunday night football, which was aired on one channel, drew twice the viewership as obama's SOTU, which was broadcast on several networks.

How's that for a bitch slap?
Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.
