Brazil Stiffs Obama on Oil Deal, Exposing President's Incompetence

By Mark Whittington | Yahoo! Contributor Network – Sat, Jan 21, 2012

COMMENTARY | President Barack Obama has suffered the second embarrassment over oil imports within the space of a week. Brazil, whose offshore deposits of oil were sought by the Obama administration, has signed contracts with China for the product.

According to the Washington Times, Brazilian offshore crude may number about 38 billion barrels. Obama went to Brazil last month to put in a bid for the oil, offering loans and other support to develop the oil in an "environmentally responsible matter," The Hill reported at the time. Republicans criticized that initiative, pointing out Obama has placed roadblocks in the way of domestic development of oil and gas reserves.

Thanks a lot, dumbshit.

The party's over, Barry.

The world sees you for what you are - an empty suit, a self-aggrandizing promoter, and ultimately, a stooge.

You could do the right thing today and just resign.

It really would be the best for all concerned.

Just do it, Barry. Now. Before it's too late.

Obama deals like a community organizer. He knows nothing about the oil industry. So, being a novice and a ego maniac, his chance of getting the contract were slim and none. Plus, they do not trust him or the US for putting tariffs on their exports of Ethanol. We are making enemies all around the world and the dunce in the WH is doing his share.

Didn't Obama loan Brazil the money to develop those off shore firlds?

Oh how soon they forget.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

Oh how soon they forget.

He engineered a loan guarantee of up to $2B through the Ex-Im bank, but not much of it has been used. It would have required Petrobas to have used the money to buy US goods or services.  (That info came from the WSJ)

Ca you blame them? Who would do business with, a broke country that will bog you down with environmental regulations before they will buy a drop of oil from you, or a country that has cash, and wouldn't care if you ran the oil rigs on baby seal fat?

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

So, when should we expect the GOP to start running the commercial showing him talking about being Brazil's "best customer" followed by the news about this oil going to China?

Just another example of incompetence and failure for the stack...
