I'm not. I'm just not in the mood to hear lies right now.

Nope. Felt a fever and the flu coming on so I napped on the sofa and now I am upstairs avoiding TV. I will wait for the talking heads tomorrow...
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

I don't know how he lives with himself. It would be easier to track how many non-lies he said than the vast number of outright, blatant lies. I watched for a while, then walked away. It was getting me sick, made the mistake of watching him while we were eating dinner.

Nope. I'm watching Storage Wars.  I feel like my blood pressure shoots up every time I hear him speak.

Yuuuuup!!

Funny thing is, until he came on the scene, I was interested in this kind of stuff.  I'd watch even if I wasn't a big fan of the person in office.  Times changed with ChicagoHope.  I'll tune in to any debate he's in though.  That will be entertaining!

Well, sort of.  There's a guy on Storage Wars... his schtick is yelling 'Yuuuuup!!' during the auction.  He even has a hat.

Oh my gosh! hahahhahaaa. My friend is over and we've been watching. He keeps laughing about yuuuuuup.  I wish I could say I was playing a drinking game and didn't get your joke, but I don't even have that excuse.

Hilarous :rotf:

Was working so I didn't get to do SOTU Bingo this year. Well, that and the fact I haven't had a drink in 3 weeks... My girlfriend came over and watched it though. She liked it, which was hardly surprising since she's pretty left on things. The surprising thing is she actually watched it since she's not the most politically knowledgeable person.

If you actually drank every time Obumbles said, "I, me, my" you'd have alcohol poisoning in the first 10 minutes.

I only caught snatches of it, I was in a restaurant most of the time it was on, but from what I saw and the morning recap it sounds like just the "Fair share/Fairness" hits would've been enough to ensure an alcoholic stupor by the end of the speech.

I understand he pretty much said higher taxes, more spending, and more regulations, and the republicans suck.

As I said yesterday, I watched the backside of my eyelids. I found that to be more entertaining, not to mention much more informative.

But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

Interesting......

Copied from your link.....

Obama's use of simple language  is in part a reflection of his audience: the American voter in an election year. And it's part of a larger trend in simpler State of the Union language as the speech as transitioned from a simple address to Congress into a prime-time televised event.

He knows his voter base. He would lower some more but the stupid liberal elite might complain. He would probably drop it to the level of the 'hood' if he could.

...and I'm still waiting for him to break down and do his Mohammad Ali impersonation, "I am the greatest." He has beat all around that bush.
