$60k a day!!!!!?

Mitt Romney Tax Returns Released: Paid Just 13.9% Rate In 2010, Had Swiss Bank Account

.......................

$42.5 million in income translates to roughly $60k a day, more than most Americans make in A YEAR. There's rich, and then there's ridiculously rich. Especially when your vast wealth has come at the hands of the employees of the companies you own.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/01/24/1057835/-Breaking:-Mitt-Romney-pays-139-tax-rate,-earned-$60k-a-DAY-(UPDATEDX2-with-full-returns)?via=siderec

.............................

Key passage from Reuters story ...

Romney kept a Swiss bank account until 2010, when he closed it because it posed a "political liability":

Romney advisers stressed that the holdings in the Caymans -- along with those in a Swiss bank account that was closed in 2010 after an investment adviser decided it could be politically embarrassing to Romney -- were reported on tax returns and were not vehicles to avoid taxes.

I have yet to see one post on DU about this outrage of wealth:

Clinton Filthy ****ing Rich!!!!  Link!!!

Washington (CNN) - Former president Bill Clinton enjoyed his most lucrative year ever on the speaking circuit in 2010, capping a decade of paid speaking events that has earned him $75.6 million since leaving office in 2001, according to a CNN analysis of federal financial records.

And I did some research a few days ago just for curiosity's sake.  I can't find a solid number.  But I guarantee you Mitt has helped create more jobs than Bill with his $75 Million.

There is a long list of Companies Bain helped start or kept alive:

AMC Entertainment, Aspen Education Group, Brookstone, Burger King, Burlington Coat Factory, Clear Channel Communications, Domino's Pizza, DoubleClick, Dunkin' Donuts, D&M Holdings, Guitar Center, Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), Sealy, The Sports Authority, Staples, Toys "R" Us, Warner Music Group and The Weather Channel.

I'd like to also add that Pelosi, with all her wealth, refuses to allow her employees to unionize!

He's been such a horrible President that he shouldn't make a dime, what has he done that's worthy of being paid?

Wherte is the outrage over Warren Buffetts refusal to pay over 1 Billion in back taxes. Where is the outrage over how much liberal movie stars get and half the time thier movies or tv shows suck.

It's $400k, I think most of that came from book deals and his investments.

Hmmmmmmmm

WHO'S GREEDY? Obama Gave 1% to Charity, Romney Gave 15%

http://nation.foxnews.com/mitt-romney/2012/01/24/whos-greedy-obama-gave-1-charity-romney-gave-15

Quote
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and his wife Michelle gave $10,772 of the $1.2 million they earned from 2000 through 2004 to charities, or less than 1 percent, according to tax returns for those years released today by his campaign.

The Obamas increased the amount they gave to charity when their income rose in 2005 and 2006 after the Illinois senator published a bestselling book. The $137,622 they gave over those two years amounted to more than 5 percent of their $2.6 million income.

Romney charitable contributions

Tax year    Taxable income          Charitable donations Donations as % of income
2010           $21.7 million                 $2.98 million                13.73%
2011 (est)   $20.9 million                $4 million                     19.14%

Uh Oh

Mitt Romney gave millions to charity. Joe Biden gave $369

http://harndenblog.dailymail.co.uk/2012/01/much-ado-about-nothing-mitt-romney-is-very-rich-he-also-gave-millions-to-charity-and-the-taxman.html

Quote
I'm really struggling to work out what all the fuss is about over this one. It seems to me to be much ado about nothing. Breaking news: Mitt Romney is very rich. He also gave millions and millions of dollars to charity and to the taxman.

In the early hours of this morning, some 550 pages of Mitt Romney's tax returns and a 2011 tax summary were released by his campaign. Just after dawn, there was a long campaign conference call for bleary-eyed reporters in which an accountant (who sounded exactly like you'd imagine Mitt Romney's accountant would sound) went into details of Mitt millions in mind-numbing detail.

There was an air of grumpy efficency about the call, which was led by Ben Ginsberg, who was George W. Bush's lawyer during the Florida election recount in 2000. At one point Ginsberg noted that 26 people from Chicago were listening into the proceedings, a reference to the Obama campaign headquarters.

So what were the headlines? He raked in about $42 million in 2010 and 2011. His effective tax rate was just below 14 percent, lower than that for many American taxpayers. He paid $6.2 million to the taxman and donated a staggering $7 million to charity, including $4.1 million to the Mormon church.

What the DUmbasses fail to understand is most of Romney's money is made from investments.

He's putting capital back into the market and back to work, while the DUmbasses would drain the accounts to smoke weed and eat Cheetos.

DUmb****s like them ought to just STFU and be happy someone is funding their social programs by paying their taxes. :argh:

I never will understand the envy DUmmies have for another's wealth.
