Dog hair in the washer -

We have two dogs who shed a lot. Our new front loader worked fine for about six months, then stopped draining.

My husband had to spend an hour tearing it down to get to the filter (bad design, that!) and found it completely plugged, end to end with dog hair. So the question is, is there anything I can toss into the washer with the clothes that willgrab the dog hair?

2. It sounds like tearing it apart to get to the filter is going to be routine maintenance for the life of that washer.

The only filter my old Kenmore has is when I put a piece of stocking over the end of the drain tube to catch fiber when I process raw fleece in it.

The only other thing I can suggest is buying a Velcro pet hair brush and getting rid of as much of it as possible before things go into the washer. Then maybe you will only have to pick it apart once a year.

Raw fleece again, just like at another campfire.

One wonders what the defrocked warped primitive does with raw fleece.

3. Toss the clothes in the drier before washing and run it on the no-heat fluff setting for 10-15 minutes.

It will be MUCH easier to remove the dog hair from the drier filter.

That's actually a good idea!

American Eskimo Dogs do shed a lot, and the fur is very fine and hard to pick off clothing.

Obviously, franksolich, she is washing sheep.

My bother and I once tried to churn butter in mom's maytag. Didn't work.

Never mind that, what kind of an idiot puts their dogs in the washing machine!!!???  :thatsright:

Someone should call animal control and see that a stop is put to this cruelty. Sheesh, do they lick their cats too?

Gross!!

I'll bet that doghair DUmmy's clothes are really aromatic. How about one of those rotating things with the sticky tape that remove lint.

They should remove some of those wads of animal hair before they go into the washer.

If she's putting that much hair in the washer, all the clothes are coming out with at least a little hair after washing.

Gross!!

But not as gross as the hateful DUmmy warpy, putting bags of dirty sheep hair into her washing machine. That gives a new meaning to "gross".

She went sixty-two thousand posts without mentioning sheep, and now she can't go two days without mentioning her smelly "raw fleece".

What's up with that?

I've got a sheltie.  A minute running a brush through her coat four times a day saves me a lot of effort dealing with her shedding.

Good grief, hedgehog, brush the damn dog before you put it in the washing machine.
DUmmies, sheesh. :banghead:
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”
