FREMONT (CBS 5) — After filing for bankruptcy last year, Fremont solar company Solyndra still owes American taxpayers half a billion dollars. But CBS 5 caught them destroying millions of dollars worth of parts.
 
At Solyndra’s sprawling complex in Fremont, workers in white jumpsuits were unwrapping brand new glass tubes used in solar panels last week. They are the latest, most cutting-edge solar technology, and they are being thrown into dumpsters.
 
Forklifts brought one pallet after another piled high with the carefully packaged glass. Slowly but surely it all ended up shattered.

And it’s not a few loads. Hundreds of thousands of tubes on shrink-wrapped pallets will meet a similar demise.
 
Solyndra paid at least $2 million for the specialized glass. A CBS 5 crew found one piece lying in the parking lot. Solyndra still owes the German company that made the tubes close to another $8 million.

Solyndra also went to court to get permission to hand out annual bonuses for the great job they did.

Wouldn't it be interesting if they are being destroyed due to "proprietary technology"? If that were the case, wouldn't they be patented? Wouldn't the patent then become a thing of value that could be licensed in order to recoup the gov't's investment?

And where are the approvals for all of this "liquidation" coming from? Anyone think it can be tied to 0bama by October?

From what I read in the article, they were "purchased components" from the company in Germany.  The one to whom Solyndra owes money.  (I'm sure it's not $500 million worth, but still $8 million is hardly "walkin' around money".) 

I think we're going to find in the end that these "questionable" :whatever: firms were set up with the up front intention of turning INDIVIDUAL democrat donors into CORPORATE democrat donors.  They were meant to separate the American taxpayers from large amounts of their money, which could then be laundered/turned around into campaign money to permit the Democrats to run the table for an election or six.

Did anyone else notice that only 1 of those claims have been made in the last 6 months? Or that at least 2 of them are from 2009, including one from Jan 21, 2009?

That's great, 2.9 million jobs...almost as many jobs as the government added to its payroll......no wonder Washington D.C. now has the highest medium income in the country.  What a joke, I hope they take that commercial and tear it apart in a counter-ad
