Keep China Happy: Vote Obama

January 18, 2012 by John Myers

Good news: You don’t need to fret about global war, the economy or even the future value of outstanding U.S. Treasury bills, notes and bonds, at least if China has any say. It is not going to do a single thing to rock America’s boat. In fact, Beijing hopes that things stay smooth as glass, because it holds more than $1.1 trillion of U.S. Treasury debt. And with the direction America is going, the country would love nothing better than to see Barack Obama re-elected.

China’s leaders are not stupid. To them, Obama is the best thing to come along since one-minute rice.

One prominent Republican agrees. Last month, self-promoter extraordinaire Donald Trump wrote an open letter to the President. Trump took issue with Obama regarding the advantages in trade that China is being given, writing: “How little respect the Chinese government has for you.”

Last week, Trump added to his complaints against Obama’s China policy, saying: “They’re having a field day with the United States and our leadership.”

You would have to be an idiot to discount China’s global ambitions. Beijing is covering all of its bases, building a 21st Century military, piling up IOUs and putting capitalism to work. (Poor Mao Zedong. All he did was turn hundreds of millions of kids into robots and wear a stupid cap.)

(snip)

The bottom line is that a vote for Obama is a vote for China. He will continue his policies of the past three years, making Beijing very happy. China’s leaders are well-educated in history and have undoubtedly have read what Napoleon Bonaparte said: “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.”

Regardless of whether Obama is reelected or not, China is going to own our ass for decades to come.   The US debt and deficit is so great that a balanced budget is impossible without massive tax increases on everyone and massive cuts to all areas of spending.

Bare with me, I'll get to the point in a little while.

I have been letting an out of work fellow I know with a loader haul some of my junk to the scrap/salvage yard on a halfers (50/50) deal. Scrap steel is bringing from 12 to 14 cent a pound right now. I have ridden with him to the yard a few times and I was amazed at what I saw. There was a continuous line of cars and trucks hauling stuff into the yard. Most of it was rusty tin, old fences, old rusty cars/trucks, lawnmowers, bicycles, even pots and pans...light stuff that had been sitting in the woods and bushes for 50 years. I saw where some of my stolen stuff had gone and why.

I have talked to another fellow that is selfemployed, when he has something to do, and he has been cleaning out his lifetime collection of junk also. He says he wouldn't be selling it but he hasn't made any money in 2 years...needs money. Same situation with a lot of people.

OK here's my point at last. Most of this scrap steel they tell me is going to China. When they have bought up all the scrap steel and we don't even have a rusty tin can left to sell them,.... will they start a war with us? Hey, it's the excuse the Japanese and liberals use for starting WW2. We don't have large steel mills any more nor is there any iron ore mining in the US that I know of. Most of our domestic steel production today is running on scrap steel and competing with the Chinease to obtain that. After all the old scrap steel is gone and there is no quick, easy source of steel, How can we fight a war without large amounts of steel production? It takes time to open a mine and build smelting plants. There will be no scrap to bridge the gap.

We have been set up for defeat.

Yeah that.  I'm not sure they give a **** who wins, neither party is going to be able to take a negative position toward them without drastic effects on our own economy, and as long as the economy is the big issue, it's not going to make much practical difference to them as to who is living in the White House.
