The big meltdown was election night 2002, though.

Someone hacked Skins's island, and posted one of those little grey rectangular displays announcing "ALL YOUR SENATE BELONG TO US."

I wish I'd kept a copy of a screen-print of that.

It just totally wiped out Skins's island for about the next day; by the time it was back up again, the loss had been somewhat absorbed by the primitives, and they weren't as hot and excited as they would've been.

Oh! I was wondering why some people here referred to "All Your Senate Belong To Us". Someone actually hacked the website? :lmao:

The meltdowns in 02 and 04 were classic, however the forthcoming meltdown when Scott Walker doesn't get thrown out of office will probably be the best one yet.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Any idea when the election is? I think the signatures were just turned in and have to be reviewed. BTW Walker was on Rush last week and Hannity today, the State has a surplus now and people have gotten property tax breaks, so let's hope the people of Wisconsin will notice it.

No, I'm not sure when it is, I seem to recall hearing maybe in March, but not certain.

Nobody knows when it is going to be yet. They just turned in the fraudulent petitions yesterday and the G.A.B. is going to go to court to ask for more time to go over the sigs of Mr. Hilter and M. Mouse.

And also the signatures of the guy who admitted to signing the petition 80 times to get back at Bush winning the 2000 election:

Election Day 2004 has to be the pinnacle for DUmp lunacy.

Remember in the afternoon, from around 3pm until polls closed, the exit poll rumors were spreading like wildfire, showing John F'n winning by huge margins all over the place.

The DUmpmonkeys believed ever word, and were ecstatic. I'm sure lots of them had drained their champagne bottles long before the first actual returns started trickling in.

As the tide turned, especially in Ohio, the shock and anguish of the DUmmies was a beautiful thing to behold.

The finest evening of freudenschade one could ever hope to have.

Even if the forces of civilization defeat the jug-eared muslim this November, the DUmp reaction could not be more enjoyable than it was in 2004.

I found DU before I was a member of CU. I saw CU mentioned on DU by an old member some of you might recall...MeowMeow.

He was trashing CU so I popped over and joined. I will lay claim to starting CU's Best/Worst forum even though it wasn't called that
way back then. I simply started bringing over the nutcase posts.  :-)

I was working that day and had the radio with me, I was listening to Sean and he was talking about the exit polls, sometime during the 5PM hour Sean got info that the exit polls were wrong, he told everyone to get out and vote, I think it might've been Rove who was the guest and told Sean the exit polls were wrong? needless to say it was a heck of an election, Minky and I saw the meltdown on another board that went on for weeks! :lmao:

As an aside, the HBO documentary, Left of the Dial, while a sympathetic look at the founding of the long defunct Err America radio network, had some very funny footage from election night 2004.

If you have never seen Left of the Dial, I highly recommend it. It is actually a rather honest attempt even if they try to put a positive spin on the utter disaster that Err America was to that point.

Remember how we were chastised for celebrating in the conservative forum? I was relentless. No one will shut me down. The consequences of banishment didn't scare me. Chat was awesome back then too!!

We had an IRC chatroom that everyone knew about, but few entered. If they did, they would take exaggerated stories to the libs and try to put us on the defense about having a place to talk. That small group of 5 or 6 people was AWESOME! We stood firm and knew our shit. <3

I mentioned that here a while back. We had to sit there and listen to whining and tantrums, and only 1 person from the left congratulated us, after like what? 2 weeks? we said screw it and we had a party in our own little conservative forum AND WE WERE TOLD TO STOP GLOATING BECAUSE WE WERE THROWING IT IN THE LEFTS FACES, seriously? we were in our own forum, we were furious and on fire over that.

It was DU that introduced me to CU, and from there, here. I owe DU a bit of thanks--along with the Paulbots--for bringing me here to CC.

I only became aware of DU, and CC, because of DUmmie FUnnies.
Curse you, Charles, and the beaver you rode in on.

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

Wrapping up this unscientific poll, it appears the overwhelming bulk of the audience in the DUmpster are those who had already acquired a taste for the primitives before coming to conservativecave, rather than coming here first and then acquiring that taste.

I always sort of wondered myself (in addition to what a member had wondered in a personal message), as it did seem like most people new here already knew, or know, a great deal about Skins's island and the primitives; obviously knowledge they picked up earlier in bits-and-pieces from other places.

This is good "marketing" data, and we're happy to be a central meeting-place, a clearinghouse, of primitive lore.

Before I joined CC.

I have been a fan of DUmmie FUnnies for years at FR.

Frank's occasional "announcements" on FR about the primitives on Skin's Island got me to come over here for a peek.

I liked, I joined, and here I am, 3,840 some posts later.   :-)

You know, I wish I would've saved those DUmmie ALERTS!, which dated back to the Scamdal of 2005.

I had originally wanted to use the Drudge blinking red-and-blue siren light, but could never adapt it for that, and so instead ended up using an image of the late red round one on some obscure television show.

It was great for developing the "screaming headlines" talent; I never knew I had it in me.

After the Scamdal was all said-and-done, I then switched over to a photograph of Skins's island to herald a DUmmie ALERT!

But about a year, a year and a half ago, I started getting the impression some on the DUmmie FUnnies (not the writers, but their audience) didn't care much for the interruptions in the threads, and being a nice guy, I quit.

They were a lot of fun while they lasted, though.

Just out of curiosity, I went to see if any of the original (during the Scamdal) DUmmie ALERTS! are still there.

This is a random example; the image that was removed was that of the late red round one on some obscure television show; I had deleted it from my photobucket account after the Scamdal, and the original evaporated when a computer crashed on me, circa 2008.

Found DU a couple of years ago, kept going back for the laughs.

Then I found this place and read most of the DUmmies posts here, with great comentary.
