 Sucks. I got turned down this fall and have been so depressed ever since I can hardly get out of bed. Thank the Goddess we have each other.

If you have have resources for mental health treatment, GO. But,don't give up regardless, that's is what the system wants you to do. Take care of yourself.

If you were I hope you file an appeal. I would also enourage you to find an attorney or advocate to represent you. I ended up having a hearing and won. It was at least a four year battle. Stupid jerks couldn't figure out if I could have worked I would have. Most advocates will meet with you and tell you if you have a case. They used to be limited on what they could charge.

A good friend is going through the same thing. It just isn't right what is happening to disabled people.

quite a while (as the previous poster pointed out). I also an fighting for disability due to a severe back injury. Mine is different because I worked for the state and have been fighting the insurance company that they used for supplemental disability. I also have a claim with Social Security but have not heard back from them yet. I am hopeful but realistic with SS.

The judge that I went before denied my claim even though the occupational therapist there said that there were no jobs in the economy that I could do. I repealed that and had to go before the judge again and he pretty much had to approve my claim as he had been informed by SSD that he had not done things right. Took me a little over three years to get SSDA, thankfully I had disability insurance from my job to help until SS finally went through.

Yes it is. If you haven't see the one starring "Sherry" you have to watch it. She is the most disgusting person, calls everyone who is there to help her a bitch, sits in a chair all day throwing her trash all around her, claims she can't work or do anything but her husband says she could if she wanted to. I happen to have that one taped.  My husband refuses to watch them. I plan on watching them tomorrow.  I know I'm going to be grossed out.  I hate roaches.  HATE them. I don't know if I'll be able to stand looking at that show.

Oh man, she's quite a piece of work.

She's Hindu, from India, descended from a long line of those who flourished and prospered under British rule in that country for about 200 years.  From a long-ago description of her uncle's home there, they were obviously in the top 1% of that country, and did well under the raj.

However, the raj is no more, the socialists having taken over since 1947, which slowly deteriorated the good life of the elite there.

And so they came to America a couple of decades later, so as to continue enjoying their high standard of life; they didn't want to share any wealth with Indians who had less than they.

I think she's a pig simply because she grew up with servants dealing with cleaning.

When a person has an obvious mental problem and the family stands by them offering excuses for them to continue to destroy their lives, a husband that stands by his woman and at no time bothers to drag in bags to clean up a mess, or do more then stand at their side rolling their eyes------.         Say he does not object to conditions he has to live with, not his fault, his wife needs help but he just blames all on her.

Sherry has a husband that that could help her, why not do the dishes and mop the counters-----this is his home also.
 Can he not take out the garbage for her, find an exterminator to rid them of the roaches.

Poor Sherry off in ga ga land and those that live with her make no time to help her out.   All the family that is all so embarrassed over what Sherry's problem are cannot find time to give her a helping hand.

Just noticed that she has hypodermic needles laying about--- is she diabetic, diabetes can cause problems with eye sight, perhaps she cannot see the bugs that infested her home.       But others can see and why not rid her home of the bugs she cannot see????

Two sides to every story, Sherry needs help in the home, clean up the clutter, and send that ass whole husband a packing.

So she has a hissie fit, yells, screams and bangs her head on the floor, she will get use to it.
