Me too. Talked to my son last night and his reaction was "oh shit we're gonna have to go to extra pc etiquette & safety brief bullshit". He thinks it will die down. I'm not so sure given the current administration's utter contempt for the military.

Don't be a dumbshit, every Muslim in the world cares about how troops from a non-Muslim country treat the dead, even the gangsta dead the locals are glad to be rid of.  Shit like this is better Taliban recruiting material than the late unlamented drone victim could have written on his best day.  That translates directly into more of our people getting killed by newly-recruited suicide bombers and suicidal small arms attacks.  Morons too dim to think through the consequences of their actions will get more Americans killed in the long run, and undo years of positive working with the locals so some ****head could put up Rambo shit for his buds on YouTube, which (News flash for the mentally impaired) the Taliban views too.

Would you be uspset if cops in Memphis shot a bunch of gangbangers, then filmed themselves pissing on the bodies, and put it up on YouTube?  How about just cutting off some ears, after all, it doesn't matter to the dead guys.  Now reflect on how well that would go over if they weren't US cops, but Indonesian police here 'Helping' us.

Now that these dopes put it out in front of God and everybody, the command has the problem that publicly tolerating or condoning indiscipline like that is a rot that quickly leads to atrocities against the civilian population (Nits make lice, etc.), and any failure to deal with it seriously once it does blow up just enhances the enemy propaganda value even more.  These fools put it out for the world to see, it's way too late to sweep it under the carpet or blow it off, they are going to have to deal with the consequences of their own very poor decisions.

The primitive thinking (Or lack thereo) on this, both Right and Left, is depressing to read.  The DUers want to hang the troops out to dry whether they did anything or not just because they hate America, and way too many people on CC and CU don't understand Jack Shit about counterinsurgent war but just hate Muslims or love them some Marines no matter what ****headed thing individuals might do.

Yeah, he thought that too, though they say they've identified the guy who filmed it. But it's not like this kind of thing is not without precedence. Look how the Haditha insurgents manufactured a scandal, videotaped it and then shopped around for a reporter with enough hatred for the military that he'd publish a story that showed the Marines in a blind rage hellbent on revenge and suffering from the ravages of war. This actually came out in one of the trials from the Intel officer.
