Oh my.

By the way, did the yenta take the day off?

None of the front pages of forums currently show her as lighting any campfires right now.

Was there an original post I missed?  I just wanted to compare it my time in a Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) whorehouse.  Of course I was only 16 then...   O-)

I have visited prostitutes, and I don't apologize for it. It was 1971, in a place called Vung Tau.
I was 20 years old and rated R&R after having just spent two months in the A Shau Valley as a part of Operation Lam Son 719. We had been in combat damned near non-stop for most of that time, and I had tagged and bagged friends of mine. I also knew that I would be headed back into the exact same ****ing meat grinder after my week at VT. In short, I had no idea if I would ever see 21.
So what did I do? I got laid. Every ****ing night.
Am I proud of it? No. But am I embarrassed by it? Again, no.

She claims to have the flu, for the eighth consecutive week, and she's missing some big Occupooper event today.

In reality, she's hanging around her crappy little condo, hard up against a roaring San Diego freeway, so as not to miss the Brinks truck if it stops by to offload the first big batch of essay royalties.

The cash will be packed up in big canvas bags, each with a large dollar sign on its side.

Meta is starting to develop into a rather good fun forum. It reminds me a bit of the old-A.T.A., except rather than the admins responding and trying to calm the fights, it's just standard DUmmies fighting over the definition of 'is'.

Lots and lots of smug self-satisfaction and arrogant self-defined superiority...and all aimed at other DUmmies. A full-on circular firing-squad.

Don'tcha guys just love the freedom you get on a "reichwing conservative" Nazi/Fascist board such as CC instead of the Gulag-style board like those created by the "tolerant", the "understanding", the "open-minded" left wing?  :-)

This numbersbravo nut is every bit as funny in his military fiction as TiTtyboy and DUmoTex.

It's kind of hard to write that, though, when TiTtyboy was so far ahead, miles ahead, of DUmoTex or numbersbravo when it comes to making up goofy military escapades.

Who the **** takes an R&R in country? My Brother spent his in Hawaii so he and his wife could have the honeymoon they never got. That was because his orders changed and instead of the time he thought he was going to have off after flight school he got 3 days and you have no idea what fun it was for mom and dad to try and plan a wedding and find a church to hold it in that time. 11Booboo lies all the time and has no ****ing clue about the A Shau or anyplace that didn't take place on HBO first.

Sometime between serving with Sgt Rock and Easy company and my SR-71/astronaut training I trained Delta Force and Navy SEALS on how to rescue alien pilots from the Rooskis when they crashed behind the Iron Curtin. When I would R&R in "THE NAM" I never had to see a hooker since they would always bother me for "love". Never took them up on it tho since I was dating Raquel Welch at the time and didn't want to break her poor heart any sooner then I had to. :naughty:

...develop a rash.   :lmao:

Some story's sound strange but nothing is stranger then real life.  Some incredible story's that are true  that come out when a drunken sailor has proof of his story, pictures and documents.

After all these years the story I would not believe is when a service man claims to have never visited a Whore House in Asia.

Spain has the campfire girls waiting out side the gates of Rota some had air materises on their backs.  All sea ports have the Girls hanging about, Japan was known for the family's that sold their daughters to servicemen for a short time, I imagine the same is true all over the Orient.  Sort of a deal when the men rented an apartment in town and rented a young girl to cook, clean and be a companion to them for 3-4 months.

Time came for them to head to sea and the young girl and apartment was passed on to someone just arriving for a 3 month layover.

Here in America some slimy men knowing they would be in the area for 6 months or more had this down pat.

They came into town with allot of back pay and would check out the girls in town.   They prayed on the home town girls with family in the area and the girls were either fat or unattractive.    They courted these girls, had their family to welcome them, feed him and put them up.    Family's that desperately wanted their daughter to be happy and married.

So these Bas*ards would spring for a cheap engagement ring become part of the family, get free sex and a home away from the boat.  Come time to sail the men would send a Dear John letter to the girl waiting for him and move on.

The true story's are much more sad then someone can make up, the woman in the above was a friend of mine, and I found that she was not the only one taken in when Barnacle Bills the sailors came to town.

I was fortunate, Dad a retired Boson Mate to my disgust ran a check on any sailor who set foot on the property.  Good thing one was married and the other had problems and the Skipper of the boat he was on gave him an earfull.

When the right one came along, Dad gave his blessings.

So I wander about with flight of ideas, but as Bell Bottom Trousers song says " Never let a Sailor a inch above your knee".

And never trust a man that says they were too pure to visit a whore house.-------I did not inhale, I never had sex with that woman-----Sure, right on Buddy, we believe you.

This is dated information--it's what I recall reading from a book published in, oh God, probably circa 1940--that said that Phoenixville, Alabama had the highest percentage of sexually-transmitted diseases in America, and speculated it was because of Phoenixville's proximity to military bases (I dunno which ones).

I wonder if that's still true today, or if Phoenixville has cleaned up its act.
