Liberal TV is no joke
Gag’s always on GOP

President Barack Obama may not know it, but he has a nice advantage in the world of late-night television. A new study by The Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University says that in 2011, late-night comedians mocked Republicans three times more than they did Democrats. The biggest ideological difference was between David Letterman and Jay Leno. Letterman told 77 jokes at the expense of Obama, while Leno told 156 — about 100 percent more.

The Republican presidential candidates got whacked across the board in late-night precincts. Herman Cain was mocked 191 times, Rick Perry 186, Michele Bachmann 128 and Newt Gingrich 110.

Interestingly, Mitt Romney was only singled out for teasing 79 times, perhaps signifying a certain blandness on the part of the former governor.

<snip>

Americans should expect the media to back Obama again, although the enthusiasm couldn’t possibly match that of 2008. We live in sobering times, and even though many believe it’s all George W. Bush’s fault, that punch line is not working anymore. There will be a new narrative, and it most likely will involve highlighting the dumbness of the Republican guy, not the accomplishments of the president.(Because there is nothing in what he has accomplished that he can brag about and get votes for in return)

I know that bias in the news and the entertainment arena isn't anything new. But I just like to keep it documented and in the public eye just in case a newbie comes by and hasn't realized it yet.

I used to watch Letterman regularly. Sometime during the Bush years, I started watching Letterman only until Letterman made his first Bush-is-dumb joke. Then, I would switch to Leno until the first Bush-is-dumb joke. Then I would change the channel or go do something else.

Now, I never watch either.

Had the jokes been the slightest bit clever, I wouldn't have minded, but they weren't even funny. It's tough to be funny when you are making the same joke five nights a week, fifty weeks a year.

Now, I get my comedy from the lefties on this board. They are just so dumb.

How dumb are they?

They are so dumb, they think that MSNBC is a credible news source. (laughter)

They are so dumb, they think that Obama is a good president! (laughter)

They are so dumb, they think that there are 57 states. (laughter)

They are so dumb, they think that Obama cares about them. (laughter)

They are so dumb, they think that the NYTimes is unbiased. (laughter)

They are so dumb, they think that socialism works. (laughter)

Don't worry about it.  We wonder that about almost all of vesta's posts.  The amazing thing is that a few made sense, and 1 or 2 actually made a lot of sense.   All the rest are...  :???: :???: :???:

Not really, he's the MSM's first pick.

Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

What I am trying to convey is that the Liberal Jester of the Courts had to make the King  and Court laugh at themselves.

Some time in the late 1700"s or early 1800's liberal cartoonists began to publish in the news papers parodies of their leaders.  The closer they got to the truth the closer they came to ending up in prison.

The Libs of all time have had to walk a fine line between comedy and truth.  To insult Mohammad is today a call for a death sentence for the speaker be  they of Islam or not.    Conservative Muslims cannot allow any kind of Liberal thinking does not show them in a grand light.

The story written about a young innocent young boy who sees reality is an old one, true even into today.  The child had no politics he was like all kids that bleat out the obvious facts.    Ever had a youngster that embarrassed you by stating what you had to pretend was not so???

For me thinking back the very first Liberal TV program I remember being liberal was  ---  And Then There comes Maude --- There is Maud a total Conservative who finds herself pregnant at 40.    She gets an abortion. This was a comedy show that turned dark and a tear jerker.

There is a place for liberal TV as there is a place for Conservative TV.   Only problem we have as viewers is that we enjoy and laugh at ourselves in the liberal shows, all the Conservative shows are the Cops arrest a law breaker.

Jokers who make us laugh at ourselves and our leaders give us respite from the ---what the Hell is going on---

Is it possible to create a Conservative show, outside a new Archie Bunker that we can enjoy ????

Cannot Conservatives also make fun of the liberals or is this a no go for programing?????    What ever happend to Barney Miller, the top show that our police said was the most true to life cop show???
