Do they honestly think amnesty is a winning issue?
Even here in liberal hell when Spitzer tried to push through a bill to grant drivers licenses to illegals the outcry was so great he withdrew the proposal.

Well, I still believe the jug-eared muslim has a better-than-even chance, but the mexican vote buying bill doesn't.

Before anyone can veto it, it has to pass both houses of Congress.

And the Florida Latin vote is more Cuban than mexican.

The Cubans are legal, and a lot of them remember Elian Gonzalez being pulled from his family's arms by Janet Reno's stormtrooper.

The muslim will not win Florida.

Hell, they can't even get a consensus on immigration in their own forums.  And they suck at math, as usual.  Even IF they could coalesce liberals around supporting amnesty, that is 19% of the population, of which illegal immigrants are already a 5% subset.

Even aside from the immigration aspect, the financial aspect of massive new Federally-backed student loan entitlements given the budget trainwreck makes that a nutty claim.
