Realize the technology is moving forwards. From the first time I saw one of these suckers, an Insight in 2000 to now... who'd thunk we'd see Hyrbrid Electric full sized trucks?
Of course as of now getting these engines into a tractor trailer might be truly a dream. I cannot wait to see some of the redesigns that actually make THOSE aerodynamic and less drag. (And yes, there is an issue with what do you do with the batteries after the fact)
Of note, Toyotas are also the official vehicles used by the San Diego Lifeguards.
All these vehicles are still produced in Japan, but due to the Fukushima earthquake, Toyota is considering production in the US. There were some serious issues with the supply chain and backups after the quake hit.
better mileage than it’s competitors. . . .Unlike it’s gas cousin. . . .Like it’s cousin the Silverado. . . .The Nissan Leaf is now in it’s second year of production. Like all vehicles in it’s class. . . .decent mileage for it’s class. . . .impressive mileage for it’s class. . . .
the Backup Collision Intervention System. It is essentially a Radar\Sonar unit that will detect people behind the driver as he backs the vehicle.
It will warn the driver, and it will also apply the breaks. . . .
Nadin knows Sonar. Learned all about it from Captain Nemo. Those are the brakes.
Oh and yes, the side mirrors do fold in, protecting them from damage while parked. It does have a rear camera standard, and for those of us who are short, the pedals adjust.

INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW HAS POWER, STYLE & SIZZLEFrom green hybrids and electrics to heavy-duty trucks for backcountry roads, this year’s show has it allBy Nadin AbbottDecember 30, 2011 (San Diego)--The San Diego International Auto Show is presented by the New Car Dealers Association of San Diego. It’s a cool way for San Diegans to see what’s new in vehicles--and it is among the largest car shows in the nation. For those who are interested in more ecologically sound cars and even trucks, we are seeing more and more hybrids, flex fuel vehicles and electrics across most classes. The technology has come a long way in a short decade, making it both more compact and efficient.Scroll down for highlights from the show—including our video of a test drive on a rugged Jeep track.http://www.eastcountymagazine.org/node/8263Realize the technology is moving forwards. I didn't see any trucks...Just pickups. Here's your electric and hybrid trucks....http://www.pluginamerica.org/vehicle-tracker?make=All&drivetrain=All&class=commercial&charger=All&cvrp=All&availability=AvailableAnd no, there is not an issue with what you do with the batteries after the fact. Utility companies are already getting geared up to use them after the vehicle range is down to about 80%. And after that they will be recycled - the process is already in place.

Two things I noticed about the video:1. Nadin must be DAMNED short, because the camera was barely above the dash, and2. She sounds just like Natasha Fatale, Boris Badenov's sidekick in the "Rocky and Bullwinkle" cartoons.
You're right, she does sound like Natasha. If only the video had moose and squirrel in it.
From the looks of the Facebook picture and the sound of her(?) voice I would say there is something genetically messed up.Nads we know you visit, hell it is almost your shining hour please explain why you never took any videos while "reporting" on the park cockroaches? It makes no sense, you could be up for the Pulitzer to compliment DUmbass of the year.
Carl, that's the effects of the radioactive milk.
Thank God there is no indication it has spawned either.
H5. Got any snow up there?
I know, she's built like Boris, yet has the voice of Natasha, hmmm. Couldn't be the milk could it?
