She spent a day at the auto show and she's already talking like an old sea dog. :lmao:

I wonder if she even knows how to change a tire without consulting the owner's manual.

Doesn't matter.  If the mirrors fold in to prevent damage, she's good to go!  The mirror folding is brand new technology.  No car has ever had them until the 2012 models.  Duh.  So at least she can fold the mirrors in, just in case some drunk rams into the car while she tries to change a tire.  At lease the mirror is safe.

it has a rear facing radar\sonar...

:rotf:

I'm sorry, but this has me laughing with tears coming out of my eyes.  I think I'll install Sonar on my car tomorrow.  She's ****ing dumb.

And Nadin, it's Infiniti, with an "I" not a "Y".  You might want to learn how to spell the name of the car if you're going to report on it.

Hopefully, she's not ****ing anything.  :panic: :bolt:

Does this admission mean Nadin will have to decline her Number 1 DUmmie of the Year award?

When I voted for her, I was under the impression she was under the impression she was an expert.

I would still vote for her, but still, there seems to be a principle here.

Yeah good point.   A little late to fill out the disclosure form to the judges isn't it?

At 6am I doubt that any of the booths were occupied, the janitor must have let her in.  Can't wait to see her crappy pictures of the event.

She would have met PCIntern on his way to his first root canal of the day.

Funny, I always thought the press day was the day before or a couple of days before the auto show, not 6 am the morning of.

I'm guessing nads hasn't spent much time around convention centers at that time of morning.  Maybe the dive bars surrounding them at 1 am, but not 6 am.  Downtown San Diego wasn't a nice place to be about 20-25 years ago.

And not to burst your bubble, nads, but the SD Auto Show is shit.  It's a bunch of dealers pimping out current model year crap and offering test drives--in short, it's a one-stop auto sale.  It's a slightly more condensed version of automobile row along I-8.

If you wanted a SERIOUS car show, besides LA, there's NAIAS in Detroit, Chicago, etc.  SD is NOT the second-largest.  San Fran has over 800 vehicles.  Hell, even the SEMA show in Vegas (aftermarket show) is bigger than SD.

Bottom line, go hang out on Camino Del Rio and tell us what you see.  Bout the same shit, nads.  Color us unimpressed.

Ah how far technology advances...

back in the dark ages, when the Insight first came out, it took half the car... that is the battery pack. Well today we went down to cover the San Diego International Auto Show. Not only were there electric vehicles, not just the Volt or the Leaf.... but full sized trucks that are also hybrid electric.

We are moving slowly towards a whole new generation of technology.

This is how technology moves. I am far from an expert, but as far as batteries are concerned, I'd say we have had major leaps in technology.

This is good.

Diesel / electric stuff has been used in heavy haulage mine equipment and rail freight for decades now. Note the differences between them and your average hybrid car. (Hint - There's a fairly large , heavy and ecologically unfriendly component missing from the industrial equipment).

32. I would have loved to ask that question myself

...

We also learned of some other cool tech. One vehicle revealed there (prototype) from Infinity. it has a rear facing radar\sonar... that will apply brakes if you do not after warning you have somebody behind you. Now that strikes me as the type of safety equipment that SHOULD become standard.

...

So, what you're saying is that when I start tailgating you because you're doing 45% of the speed limit on any given piece of road , your car will automatically apply the brakes ?

Sounds like a really good way to have 2 and a bit tons of truck parked on your rear passenger seats.

On the plus side - it'll make for interesting junk when I prise it out of my bullbar.

That word may not be racist, but it is misspelled. Renege, a contraction of renegotiate.

Is it?  I've most often heard it in relation to bets or card games.  In that instance it means failing to make a bid or bet.

That is one of the common uses. Another is to back out on a all but signed contract.
