A litte[sic] Christmas Story... think of others tonight
Well, in my younger years I served as a Paramedic. I volunteered for this very shift. If I were at work, either I'd be running calls, or it be very quiet. Around this time of the night, near mass... we just sat in the ambulance... waiting.

So one of those years we got a call to one of our ciudades perdidas for a breathing emergency much earlier in the day, around three thirty in the afternoon. Now, those are usually very serious. So when we got on scene, and it was cold, it was asthma. So we treated the emergency and started talking to the family. We found they came from the southern part of the country. They were robbed on the road and had exactly nothing, except what they had on their backs. So we filled our forms, and picked our stuff and went back to the station. Right across there was a Costco, new and shiny. So we passed the hat, (and me and my medical director put most of it) and went over to Costco. We bought them food, and blankets, and yes a toy or two for the two children.

We went back, and they were very surprised we pulled back in. I mean it is cold, it is not precisely close and we blew a quarter of a tank of gas (which I replaced). We opened the back of the rig and unloaded the food, included the prepared Christmas dinner, as well as the toys and the blankets and the rest. They had food for a week or two, and some stuff that they lost. As dad put it, in broken Spanish (they were Zapotec), we were their angels.

So when the morning comes, think of others, and not just tonight... but for the rest of the year.

3. That is very heart warming nadinbrzezinski..
Its folks like you that keep my hope for the human race alive.

Plus I didn't realize you were a Paramedic.
I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and call this post sarcasm.

8. This is an uplifting story EXCEPT for these parts:

"...(and me and my medical director put most of it)..." and "...quarter of a tank of gas (which I replaced)...."

These two parts change the story from a nice Christmas story for the reader to a "Look at me" by the author. Does the reader *really* need to know that the author paid for the food/gifts/gas in order to enjoy the pleasure that the recipients (as well as the donors and the reader) derived from the good deed?

Oh, and yes, nutcase nadin is steaming over them remarks:

REALLY steaming. But way too stupid to come up with a clever retort:

10. In fact, YOU are not worth it

Merry Christmas. Next year JUST FOR YOU, I will have the year of suicides...

After some reflection and cooling-off, nutcase tries to give a reasoned response to her buddy Obamanaut:

12. Just for you, the warm and fuzzy year of suicides

at 15:05 we got the first call. The cops did such. We responded to make sure five men, between 17-9 were indeed dead, from hanging

Arriving on scene, yup they were dead...

At 17:56 we were called to another scene now with four bodies.

To make a long story short I personally responded to three of these calls and declared, over the course of the shift, 13 young men. Between me and all other crews, we had twenty bodies on our hands by the end of Christmas shift. It was... a really crummy shift, which included an attempted suicide that same night by a young woman, about 19.

Now that was a Christmas story just for you.

And with that, the 2012 competition for Top DUmmy is underway, with nutcase nadin breaking cleanly from the gate.

The only reason I think that woman remains married is a husband who's away at sea for most of the year.
How anyone could suffer such an egomaniac I cannot begin to fathom.

Again, to be liberal on the scale of a DUmmy, there has to be mental illness or drug induced brain damage. Normal people simply cannot think like this.

I'm puzzled as to why she didn't just drive by with a five dollar bill and takeout from some fast food joint?  Times must be tougher than in the (I presume) Reagan era when she was a paramedic.
Sneaking into a country doesn't make you an immigrant any
more than breaking into someone's house makes you part of the family.

I've become a fan of Obamanaut's regular and superb goading of Know It All Nads.  I wonder how s/he can get away with steaming Nads like that when no one else seems to get by with it?

H5 for your commentary - very funny.

The Costco was in a different time zone.

Hey it sounded like a Nadin answer to me. :-)

RE: ..The year of suicides....

One would think that five suicides via hanging on Christmas eve would have made the news someplace - I can find no reference to this event anywhere.

Of course, it could be I'm not looking in the right place- but I'm fairly adept at mining data when necessary.

Yes, I do have my doubts here but I find the Nadin/obamanut bitchfest hilarious:

but my point was, and is, that neither did the reader of the story for that story to be appreciated for what it is - a feel good story.

Tossing in the tidbits about who paid for what is not germane, but rather changes the focus of the feel good to the author.

But hey, I never 'claimed' to be a writer.

and yes, I have shared here WHERE I SERVED... most other readers get it... but they don't try too hard to find real or imagined problems. You do. Why I feel sorry for you. I really do.

I used to laugh, point, call you names, but at this point, I just feel so sorry for you. It must give you some sort of pleasure to do this... so if it makes you happy... be my guest. Deal? Continue doing it, since you find pleasure in it. I am none to stop your weird pleasure. Suffice it to say... so you know, it does not bug me. It is kind of funny at this point... comedic even. But if it makes you happy... merry christmas. For "dangerous content" and photos go here...http://nadinbrzezinski.posterous.com/

This is how she reacts when something doesn't bug her.

Apparently, if ever something DOES bug her, there will be blood running in the streets.

Even Snopes pretty much debunks Nad's claim that Christmas sees an increase in suicides.

Poor Nadin isn't hip to Snopes yet is she?

6. One of the reasons I volunteered for THIS shift

So one of my kids could go home for the night. My partner is agnostic, I am Jewish. We could send one crew home (with pay)... it was done by lottery.

There's an idea.  A snopes dedicated to DUmmies lies and links to the facts proving them to be liars.   :thatsright: Never mind, there aren't any servers big enough to hold the facts that prove them to be liars.  Besides, it's a given that everything they say is a lie.
