Has it been 50 years?
« on: December 23, 2011, 07:25:23 AM »
My bride and I tied the knot 50 years ago today.  I guess those that predicted it would only last 5 years are eating their words.

We renewed vows and had our party a couple of weeks ago.

Congratulations to the Bride & Groom.

It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

Yep-- 'B-tt Head' is right, the bride did most of the organization and planning, as most females do for that sort of thing.  My claim to fame was the fact I did a hell-of-a-job writing checks; i.e. caterer, florist, invitations, hall rental, dinner the night before for out of town guests, hotel rental for those we couldn't accomodate at our house or daughters, and the after party, party, etc., etc., not to mention the Hawaii anniversary year trip we took.  After all is said, just remember 'fuzz/face' your day is coming, so warm up the pen cause it will get a workout. :catfight:

You can dress him up and buy him books, but he'll always be a transplant to Alabama!  :lmao:

I talked to him today, and he was as dirty as he ever was.  :panic:

PS - Rusty's wife is so nice to talk to. I hope they can make it to the Coast Guard reunion in Manitowoc, Wisconsin on 9/14-15.

Well - - - - - two years ago my wife and some other Coastie's wives closed the bar AFTER the reunion. One more chick could drive that over the edge!  :cheersmate:  :p  :o

50 years?  Was it an arranged marriage where you wed her before she was born or something? She looks much too young to have been married 50 years.  Congrats.
