Barely, but I survived. Man, that was a LONG 5 days. I don't know how my daughter did it. She danced between 5 1/2 and 7 hours each day, then there were 2-3 hours of performances to watch each evening, with a party after that each evening...I don't think we made it to bed before 11:30-12:00 each night.
She learned a LOT. Had some totally awesome instructors, and a couple classes that were just totally fun (African dance...what a riot to watch all the ballerina types doing african style dance!).
Had a couple of Prima Dona moments we had to deal with (other girls in the group, not my DD), but for the most part it went well.
Oh, and we had a huge drama situation, too. Senior girls were performing Saturday night...one of the "principal" dancers hurt her knee on Thursday, then again on Friday...she couldn't dance. They had to revamp the dance to go from 7 to 6 dancers andone girl had to learn a completely new part in 24 hours. They did do a great job!
So, I'm home, trying to catch up on all I missed. I can't believe how tired I am, though.
And the clothes I got for the Gala were perfect....thanks for all the advice, everyone!
