Really? That is so graphic that it will disturb some people? Really? To read it on the internet you'd think they had pictures of a reddened, premature baby in doll clothes, propped up like she was still alive. These are a very tasteful tribute to life at one of its most fragile points. How anyone can look at these and find anything disturbing about them is beyond me. like I said, to see it posted, you'd think they posted the most graphic tasteless photos of their premature infant. Seems to me they have taken the opportunity to use their premature daughter's likeness to project the beauty, fragility, and joy that is all wrapped up in creating life. Considering their faith, the tasteful tribute is a beautiful thing.

Say what anyone wants about the Duggars, I don't find this tribute to their daughter tasteless at all and I find it to be an overall profound and beautiful tribute to life in general. I don't get it.... :banghead:

It is not uncommon for people suffering a stillborn child to want to spend time with the remains; so much so sensitiviity to this is part of the training for EMTs and above.

Isn't peculiar that the dictators of all things accommodationist and sensitive would take umbrage with...

...this.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

After Michelle Duggar of “19 Kids & Counting” suffered a miscarriage, her and husband Jim Bob held a memorial service for baby Jubilee Shalom Duggar.  Ok, I get that, but they also snapped a picture of the fetal corpse to hand out at the memorial.  I know the death of a child is devastating, so I can imagine what she feels like after a miscarriage, but to me these photos seem too personal to hand out.

Fetal corpse...wow, what a nasty way to refer to a dead child.  And "fetal?"  A fetus is an unborn child, this one most certainly has been born.

I think what really bothers them is the undeniable fact that this tiny child was a CHILD,  not a choice, not a bump, not a clump of cells.  It's the reminder that the only difference between a child and "something you can kill and discard" is the mother's opinion.

You are right. I think that's what bothers them because I see nothing at all tasteless about the photos they shared. I think it was very respectful to their daughter and a beautiful tribute to life overall. To read these stories, you'd think they did something morbid. If these pictures were posted independently without the Duggars reference, who would not be touched by them?

Sensitivity is only extended to those of their choosing. Everyone else can basically get bent and 'get over it'. Things you and I hold dear are normally disturbing to many liberals apparently.

I was just going to post this, glad I did a Search 1st.

I think the photos are beautiful, and the only reason they're controversial is because those pics say so much. People need to see what they're aborting, that's why I'm for a Law that says people who have abortions should have an ultrasound machine in the room and watch what's being done.

When my friend miscarried, she buried her child, and her mother in law thought it was the strangest thing.

I did read, last night at work, on either FoxNews or CNN (very limited choices for internet access at work) .... about the pictures being released.

According to the article, some of the pictures were for the family only, and Duggars' did not release them for publication. If that's true, if I were the Duggars', I would be very upset and calling my attorney to go after whoever released them. I'm sure they made a pretty penny on the photos.  :(

The only ones I could see at this link was holding the hand and the feet. Not sure why anyone would be upset over those picutres.

I thought it was going to be a bright red stillborn photo also but that photo is tasteful and beautiful.   :bawl:

The same for me from a Southern Baptist family.  I know I have at least one picture of a stillborn cousin somewhere in the boxes of photos taken from my Mom's house after she died.  It wasn't at all unusual for those in my neck of the woods to photograph a child of any age who passed away at too young an age.

There was a strange tombstone in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, Illinois, where Lincoln's Tomb is.  There was a picture of the baby lying in it's casket on the tombstone.  I saw it many years ago, but it's not easily forgettable.

That's what I thought with the graphic warning label. Seriously, liberals are troubled, they really are. What they released publicly was very tasteful and a beautiful tribute to life in general and their daughter specifically.
