Russian Customs Seize Iran-Bound Radioactive Metal
Published December 16, 2011 | Associated Press

MOSCOW –  Russia's customs agency said Friday that it seized radioactive metal from the luggage of an Iranian passenger bound for Tehran...

<snip>

And yup; right on cue, our peace loving Iranian brothers are squealing, "INNOCENT... INNOCENT... INNOCENT".

On a side note, in our "sloppy journalism of the day" column:

...The pieces contained Sodium-22, she said, a radioactive isotope of sodium that could be produced in a particle accelerator. Sodium-22 is a positron-emitting isotope that has medical uses, including in nuclear medicine imaging....

Hmmmm; a "normal matter" isotope that emits ANTIMATTER particles?!?!  (I trust the ejumicated idiot at the AP meant to say, "Proton-emitting isotope".  :whatever: )

RUSSIAN customs? Wow... that's a surprise. If it's Russian customs then trust me there is an agenda behind this. One call to officials about this would either clear this guy to go ahead or stay, and someone wanted this publicity for some reason. Also the fact that he did not try to hide this at all further shows that this was most likely not a problem in the past at all.

ANTIMATTER: The facts that don't matter to a liberal  journalist.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin

Very astute of you to notice that, Cyrus.  The possible meanings cover a lot of territory though.  This could be any number of things, from a deception to portray Russians as actually following the UN sanctions, to a signal to Iran that the Russians are not willing to completely back their plays, to someone simply neglecting to pay the agreed-upon bribe or leaving the wrong customs officers out.  It is unfortunately impossible to say from public information.
