Gingrich Eviscerates Romney in Debate

In case you missed it, here is complete video of last night’s ABC News GOP Presidential Debate held in Iowa on the campus of Drake University. Six of the GOP Candidates participated, with Jon Huntsman not there because he did not meet the minimum polling support threshold.

Another telling moment from tonight’s ABC News GOP Presidential Debate in Iowa.

Mitt Romney tries to cast Newt Gingrich as a “bomb thrower” for his recent comments that the “Palestinian” people are “invented.” Romney said in contrast to Gingrich, he would be a President of “sobriety,” and “stability,” not a “bomb thrower” either “rhetorically or literally.”

Some are casting this as a Romney victory, but I think Gingrich won the exchange with his final remarks, in which he reminded people how Ronald Reagan caused mouths to drop open when he called the Soviet Union the “Evil Empire.” He went around all his advisers in doing so, but his statement of the truth helped reshape the world. Gingrich said he would be a President who is not afraid to speak the truth.

Perry made a great point when he said that the media was frothing at the mouth by trumpeting the comment that Gingrich had said about the Palestinians being "invented". The real problem, Perry said, was that Obama had chosen to do nothing regarding the drone that was captured.

Romney wants to parse words, as does Santorum. They both want to "consult" God and the world and raise the wetted finger to see which way the political winds are blowing, before speaking "the truth", as Gingrich puts it.

Throwing bombs and sobriety and stability and all that bullshit is simply Romney spewing more of his elitist bullshit. He's a turd that hasn't yet been flushed.

Yep.  Romney just keeps making himself look more and more like an erudite, evasive weasel with no real core the longer this goes on.  Not that it's an inaccurate picture of the man, mind you.
