I have a question about that, sir, as both you and I live in oceans of clean fresh air, probably unlike that hovering over the
yenta's neighborhood in congested San Diego.
Why bother to do that? Why not just leave them hanging, getting them another rinse?
If I have clothes hanging outdoors, and it starts to rain, I leave them be. And if my memory serves me correctly, my mother used to do the same thing.
The clothes get another rinse, and because the weather changes so abruptly, they're dry in a short time.
I can see doing this if there's prospects of rain lasting for several days--and that may be the case where you're at--but out here, nah. It can rain buckets at 10:00 a.m. and be as sunny and dry as the Sahara at noon, so best to let them hang.
