Just found out the love of my life- the one that got away- got married last month

I don't know why I'm surprised by it- you'd be stupid not to put a ring on that girl. I don't know why I'm devastated by it- it's been almost 4 years since she cut off all contact with me (so abruptly I legitimately thought something was wrong). I don't know why she still even enters my head- but I have been thinking about her alot lately. And I don't know why it should make a damn bit of difference to me- I had no remaining delusion of us ever being together. But it all hurts just the same. I am happy for her, truly. I hope he deserves her. I don't know why this hurts so badly. I don't know why I can't let go of the past. I can still here our mutual friends voices ringing in my head "don't worry, y'all will get married one day. " WTF is my problem. It's almost literally lifetimes ago and yet she might of well as gotten engaged immediately after she stopped talking to me. Why do I look back at the photos of us, so happy and full of life, exploration, and optimism? I'm not even jealous, just wrapped up inside a cacoon of hurt and self loathing- though I know I don't deserve it. I never did anything wrong, I traveled hundreds of miles to be with her when she was in bad places. I have gone through he'll and back for that girl and got nothing but masks and shields to try to gaurs myself against future heartbreak. Why have I been alone ever since? Broke, sick, used again and again. I really hope he does good by her, and I fear for my future if I hear otherwise. It's not that I don't think I can ever love again- my fear is, if I finally find someone that I can get past the friend zone with for even a moment- will I love them even close to as much as I loved- love- her? Will I always be disappointed in women's abilities to compare? That's not fair to anyone in the equation. Why now of all times? So hectic- so stressed- so broke and in debt.
Sometimes though- it is this kind of pain that reminds me I am alive.
Sorry for the emo bullshit- I just had to get it out there- can't Facebook it as too many mutual friend's would know exactly what I'm talking about- don't need th worrying or thinking I'm crazy for still feeling this way- but love truly never dies.
I wonder if she has even thought about me at all since then.

Maybe she just hates faggoty liberals

What a *****.

Of course CalPeg shows up with her Random Hug Generator. The OP should look her up and hit it hard - CalPeg probably hasn't been entered by a man since Nixon was punching hippies.

The "X" hurt me bad...and then after her came the crazies...and by the time the current wife came along I told her, "I don't fall in love any more. You'll just have hang around until you grow on me."  :rotf: I'm so romantic.

Maybe he is using an iPad, it decides hell is he'll and inserts it. Damn autocorrect.

I broke up with a guy who treated me bad (like showing up two hours late, inconsiderate bad, not beat the shit out of me bad). I can still see him, head in his hands bawling like a little girl.

I have to agree, with Johnny, darn but one doesn't just fall in love, one falls into lust until after the wedding night.

The key to long love is as Johnny says, stay around until you grow on me.   True some can fall in love--lust--- and marry in a week and 50 years later they are still together.    Rare but it does happen.    Others can live together for 15-20 years get married and 6 months later get a divorce.

Life is different for everyone of us, the longest marriages I see are --Gasp the arranged type----The wedding ceremony is the first time they meet.

Life is strange and different for all of us.

LOL  Lucky YOU!   :lmao:

My ex hurt me bad as well.  Left me and our 2 boys after 22 years of marriage for some dipshit she knew about 4 months.

I met the current Mrs. Diesel before my next birthday, marry her the following year, and have spent the last 10 years thanking God for bringing a "Christmas Angel" into my life.  (That's when we met, Christmas 2001.)

Ex's dipshit gets killed in a car wreak, she gets married (and divorced) again, and currently lives with her older sister (who's never been married).

Funny story:
While delivering a mail route about 2 months ago, I was stopped by the wife of ex's boss, who wanted to thank me and the regular carrier for the good job we do. I ask her if she knows ex, she said yes, I told her I was the ex husband.

She asked if I was (insert 2nd husband name here), I laughed and said no, I was the FIRST ex husband.   :lmao:

Well the fair thing would be to take said lady away from the guy that earned her love and give her to you for ****ing up and doing nothing to earn her love.

Yeah that's the ticket.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.
