No, but teenagers can be.
We old timers get the gray hair from worry once our child marries and the grand kids come along. drive ourselves nuts seeing the grandkids and our child's spouse with questions. Why is little Johnny so thin, or what the heck are you feeding Johnny, pure lard??? Why cannot Johnny read he is 5 years old his father/ mother could read at 4.
Own family, a child acts up and it is a " Your child did not get that from OUR side of the family. " When the child excels, they are just like their grandfather or grandmother on their side.
Teen years are a bitch for parents, but it is the later years that last forever that do us in. Only 8 years to raise a teen but another 40 years worrying about the grandkids and their children.
I survived 4 teens at one time, I was young, today I don't know how long I can survive the Grandkids and their parents. One thing after another, one learns that if the phone rings after 11PM bad news.
Teens will be teens, but when they as parents still act like teens, time to move out of town, sooner or later the grandkids will come looking for you, if they are a Teenager, tell them they got the wrong address.
