It's just about the last week of regular-season college football.
Today's important games:
Iowa State at Kansas State, 11:30 p.m. central time
Texas at Baylor, 2:30 p.m.
Oklahoma-Oklahoma State, 7:00 p.m.
Wisconsin at Michigan State, 7:00 p.m. (for Big 10 championship)
Unfortunately, UCLA couldn't handle Oregon last night, losing 31-49.
Another game of interest today might be Georgia at Louisiana State; the gut says Georgia might give Louisiana State some trouble, making it a good game.
I'm divided on feelings about the Big 10 championship game today; normally one cheers for one's division, in this case Michigan State (which had been defeated by Nebraska earlier in the season), and normally I do that, but on the other hand, Wisconsin (which defeated Nebraska earlier in the season) is clearly the best team in the Big 10 right now, and as the Omaha World-Herald pointed out three weeks ago, one should hope Wisconsin goes to the Rose Bowl, as any other team from the Big 10, this being such a crummy year, would be an embarrassment to the Big 10.
So it's six of one thing, half a dozen of another thing, in my feelings about that game.
Go Sooners.
