What’s the Occupy Wall Street movement really about? Is it rooted in anger over the sagging economy and high unemployment? Is it a protest against the growing disparity between rich and poor in America?

Comedian Adam Carolla, on the other hand, seems to think it’s really just a bunch of whining by the “self-entitled monsters” of the “everybody gets a medal” millennial generation, which he refers to as ”the a** douches” in an explicit nine-and-a-half-minute recording that’s suddenly gone viral.

“It used to be, back in the day,” he goes on, “father’d be walking his son down the sidewalk and you’d see a guy go by in a Rolls Royce and the father would say, ‘There goes Mr. Jenkins. I hope that it stands so that he can get pummelled.

It is a classic example of a fanatical right winger taking a relative argument and making it absolute even when it is obviously absurd.

His argument is that the top 1% of the country are doing more than their share by paying 55% of the federal income taxes.

Beyond the problem with his figures et al is the obvious idiocy that the top 1% have been able to benefit way beyond their contribution of either capital, labor, or invention.

If Carolla thinks that it is fair for the top 1% to own 45% of the countries investments does he think it would also be fair if they had 50%, 60% 70% 80% 95%.

Its the kind of thing that Rush's listeners cling to but makes no sense at all.

Did anyone happen to catch this previous thread?  I was looking for one last night, and I must have missed it before it was mausoleumed.

Beck played some of this on his radio show yesterday, I caught some of it and mentioned it in the ShoutBox.  It's on The Blaze.  It's a kickass rant!  Absolutely spot on. 

So the DUmp flushed it on another thread?  They can stick their heads in the sand if they want; a hell of a lot of people think the same way, that's why it's getting loads of hits, DUmbasses.

I don't have kids, but I have a couple of grandbabies.  At some point I'd like to approach my stepdaughter and discuss these participation trophies.  I don't want these boys accepting any, and I want them to tell their teachers/coaches why they're saying "no thank you."

Well let me flip it around and ask you a similar question: What makes you think you should receive such a larger share of the pie simply through your menial, non-innovative labor that does very little to create new wealth and pays little to no taxes?

If you insist on continuing the behaviors which got you poor to begin with, why should the achievers continue the behavior that made them well-off just to have to hand it over to you?

They keep perpetuating a fictitious image of the 99%. We're not all young (I'm 52). We're not all poor, unemployed, etc. We're not asking for handouts.

Anyone who follows the news, even casually, knows this. So for these comments to keep popping up, I assume that some public relations scheme is at work. They've "focus grouped" it, and this is what is supposed to resonate with the public.

The whole 99% thingy is based on freebies that you think the 1% owes you.

We go to Branson regularly for quick vacations.  The town is ALWAYS packed.  Lots of entertainers make a very good living in Branson.

I don't recall who said it, maybe Rush or Hannity, but they said if you take all the money from the top 5% and give it to the bottom 5%, in a few years everything would be back to pretty much the way it was before. From what I've heard of so many mega-millions lottery winners' fates, I'd say that logic is hard to dispute.

You can take the trash out of the projects, but you can't take the projects out of the trash.

I guess they want the cops to form a victory tunnel for them to run through before they go to get their juicy juice and a snack before going to Chuck E cheese for their trophies.
