So A Photographer Friend Of Mine In Portland OR Got a ticket tonight

...A photographer I know who lives in Portland OR. met with a local fashion model at the park on the river. They shot a series of images with what she came wearing and then he took out a collapsible fabric dressing room set it up behind a hedge for more privacy and him and the model shot two more series. While the model was changing for the 4th series 2 PPD bike officers came up to him and told him he had to take the structure down NOW...he told them that he has never had an issue before in the 5 years he has done photos around PDX. They repeated to him TAKE IT DOWN NOW...he then said "For crying out loud I am not planning on OCCUPYING the park for a month just another 45 minutes" The one cop grabbed his ticket book out and ask him...do you want a citation or a night in jail. He wisely told them "what ever will get you home on time will be fine" so they wrote him a ticket told him his arraignment date and to tear it down and then they left. He finished up his shoot tore the room down cleaned up the area and called a friend in city hall and was told unofficially they would handle it and was instructed to file a complaint against the officers as they acted out of line they also wrote down the wrong ordinance code on the citation which is cause for automatic dismissal in court.

This guy is in the 99% and a small biz owner with a 4000sq ft studio near the airport. Being involved with the OWS movement and having been someone who has been apart of founding two Occupys in two city's I have lost all respect for the law. I no longer treat them as part of the 99% I treat them as if they are part of problem. I had 2 friends arrested in Olympia WA at an Occupy the Capitol event because of severe budget cuts our Governor is proposing. Most of the arrest are provoked and unlawful,it is the cops strutting a false sense of power.

1. Selective enforcement of code

Is now common. It does not matter where.

3. Did they think the guy was the tip of the spear for a new encampment?

Or did they think that at first, realize their mistake, and then get too embarrassed to back up?

You shouldn't "lump" people, be they police or school cafeteria workers or military personnel or doctors or nurses. People are individuals. The guy should formally challenge the ticket and find out WTF was going on there, and maybe get some news media coverage on it if the news cycle can handle the story. There ARE stupid policemen, but that doesn't mean ALL of them are.

6. I hope he challenges the ticket and files a complaint against the police dept/officers for their behavior. This is well beyond absurd and could if allowed to continue be a slippery slope to control such passive activities as family picnics and other uses of the parks.

So, now they're taking nude pictures of DUmmie wymins for HUSTLER magazine.

I hope they still cover them in brown wrappers...won't want to be exposed to a cover shoot of any nude DUmmie wymins in the store.

I noticed the bouncymeister used that damned "PDX" acronym, rather than saying "Portland."

It's a way for primitives to show off, boasting that they've flown.

Yes nads, it's kind of like when Richmond, VA does not charge fees and subsidizes the occupiers there and audits the Tea Party.

It sounds like you should go occupy San Francisco or any of the other sanctuary cities and demand they stop that.
