Oh my.

As usual, the host, the condom primitive, the greying college student with Tourette's syndrome:

**************COLLEGE FOOTBALL: WEEK 14**************

What's the old theme song from March Madness? This Is It, crooned by Michael McDonald. What better way to go into the last week. brendan and era are seperated by one game. And then a log jam in the middle. Several of us vying for the ignominy of last place. Man. 14 weeks about done. Week 13 was a stellar performance by a bunch. BamaFanLee went 13-2. First timer. brendan and Auggie come in with 12-3's. Championship weekend decides the regular season with a couple of hellacious spreads. I can't imagine losing the title on the Boise State - New Mexico game. Gawd. You can cut the tension with a knife. Best of luck to the two leaders.

Remember. If you **** up, you always have the 3rd Annual Bowl Extravagonzo, two weeks hence. Goes for the dregs at the bottom, also. Final festivities start Thursday night, so before kick. Friday features Auggie's alma mater in the MAC final. Pick well, pickers!

Thursday, December 1
West Virginia pick 'em @ South Florida

Friday, December 2
Northern Illinois -4.5 @ Ohio U (Ford Field, Detroit)
UCLA +31.5 @ Oregon

Saturday, December 3
Southern Miss +13 @ Houston
Georgia +13 @ LSU (Georgia Dome, Atlanta)
Virginia Tech -7.5 @ Clemson (Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte)
Michigan State +9 @ Wisconsin (Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis)
Connecticut +10 @ Cincinnati
Syracuse +11 @ Pittsburgh
Iowa State +10.5 @ Kansas State
UNLV +39 @ TCU
Oklahoma +3.5 @ Oklahoma State
Texas +2.5 @ Baylor
New Mexico +48.5 @ Boise State
BYU -7 @ Hawaii

Wow. Good ****ing luck!!

Oklahoma over Oklahoma State.

franksolich fell to 3-3-1 against the primitives, last week having predicted Clemson to upset South Carolina.

Of course, it needs pointed out franksolich picks the most-difficult game, while the primitives also predict a whole slew of easy games, such as New Mexico-Boise State.

Nebraska finished last week, beating Iowa 20-7, for a 9-3 season.

It was our first year in the Big 10, and it went pretty good; not great, but pretty good.

The assessment remains that Wisconsin has the classiest fans, but there were no complaints about the sportsmanship of fans from Minnesota, Ohio State, Michigan State, Michigan, Northwestern, or Iowa; the sorry-ass fans of Penn State were muted this year because of well-publicized external events, but they'll be back in their usual form next year.

One assumes next year it'll go even better for us, and for Ohio State, now getting back on track.

We had to "adapt" to a lot of silly gimmicks the Big 10 does, such as this stupid "trophy" thing, but it's reasonable to assume that by the time the (R) president is re-elected in 2016, Nebraska will have some say on how things are done in the Big 10, after which toys and gimmicks and bright sparkling bangles will go by the wayside.

Yeah, I goofed on that one, but remember, it was a risky pick to begin with.

<<unlike the predicting primitives, franksolich doesn't "pad" his record for predictions by including easy picks.

I think my predicting faculties were influenced, distorted, by that Clemson has played Nebraska before--some of the finest fans one can ever hope to meet, fans of Clemson--whereas I don't think South Carolina ever has.

Clemson/Carolina is an old, old grudge game from way back. It used to be played during the state fair week on a Thursday and was called "Big Thursday".

I don't care what their record is, I wouldn't bet on that game. Either school could loose every game and their fans would forgive them if they win that ONE game.

BTW: wife says church was half empty Sunday because the Clemson fans stayed away....yes, it's that bad... :lmao:
