D.U. Most Memorable Moments, Posters of Renown???

Edited on Mon Nov-28-11 01:21 AM by unionworks
Doing my homework, I noticed that D.U. was founded the day Bush was sworn in. In the short time I have been here, I have found coverage of events far more insightful than I ccould get in the M$M. First hand accounts of what really happened at the Occupy camps, the Bin Laden hit, and the Scott Walker saga come to mind. Anyone care to share some of their best moments on D.U.? Perhaps great stories of unforgettable posters, or funny stories? I have heard a few so far, and it gave me an appetite for more. Beer and travel money to you all. :toast:

I can't post everything because I have to run, but it's hysterical!

37. I particularly enjoyed his (OperationMindCrime's) witty, intellectual, and content-filled debating style
I mean, how can you argue with logic like this? ---

OMC was more intelligent than any ten of you mouthbreathers. That was what got him TS'ed, his habit of injecting a moment of sanity into a thread filled with batshit-craziness.

7. Don't forget: Call Congress! Right ****ing now!
Oscar, Don't tutch the but, and the chicken wars!

Who was the guy who always provided the stats about how elections were being rigged? He was tombstoned, too.

Don't forget Andy. And Kephra. They were the good guys.

We've had some memorable trolls, too, like seventhson and that indy tony character.

I learn as much here as I do on the ground as a hands-on activist. Both are good ways to be a Democrat.

15. Don't forget Christmas 2008, in which it suddenly became "OK" at DU to bomb civilian targets...
...if the "right" hands were on the button and the targets were the "right" folks.

102. Yeah, so do I
And not just because I won a few of them. We're a sharp, witty bunch here and it was always the highlight of my week.

If this is what passes for a sharp, witty bunch, the wheel would have never been invented.

55. Yes, those were fine days of idealism when it was possible to believe
that someday a Democratic president would be elected who would reverse the insanity.

Sigh.

Now you believe a park full of lice-ridden hippies banging on bongos will do it. Looks like the insanity is alive and flourishing.

Come to think of it, unions do create jobs. Companies have to hire two workers to do the work of one.

210. AKA... the former DU'er known as Mr Benchley.

The Bob Boudalang thing was a column/parody he wrote on DU.

As MrBenchley... he was a genuine raving lunatic.

He got banned for supporting Joe Lieberman, but other than that, he was hardly a Freeper.

He was a pant load.

They laugh about TiTtyboy now, because they've lurked here.

When he was in his prime, it was extemely rare for any DUmbass to cast doubt on his ludicrous escapades.

Any doubter was quickly slapped down by TiT and his army of admirers.

He was a DUmp hero, as loved and honored (and as legit) as DUmmy numbersBravo and DUmmy DUmotex.

Yep, none would dare challenge the DUmp's chumpion.

Another good one was the time the record label rep. for that songwriter demanded (and succeeded) on getting the "A TiT original" song lyrics the fraud posted flushed down the $kammer hole.
