Fearless (1000+ posts) Sat Nov-26-11 12:00 PMOriginal messageSo when does law enforcement start attacking Tea Party rallies? I'm just asking... since we're all equal under the law and everything.

Well, they only hang around for a few hours, there are only a few dozen of them, they don't bring tents (but they do bring snacks and chairs), and they get permits. That's the big difference. If everyone organizing a protest did that, they'd get that "equal treatment" you're talking about. If the Teapartiers decided to camp out in town, they'd get the same guff.

When Tea Party rallies start occupying The Tea Baggers were scrupulous about following the law, OWS has intentionally flouted local regulations, citing the 1st Amendment as over riding any local restrictions.I recall reading that a Tea Bagger group was complaining to a municipality that if OWS got to use a particular park for free, that they wanted their money back.
I guess this dummie never heard of the phrase comparing apples to oranges eh?
