Is there going to be an opportunity to change usernames anytime soon?

Like with the move to DU3? I know there have been times in the past where you all have allowed this.

I like my username and would love to keep it but my ex husband knows my username and I'm not comfortable with him searching my username and reading my posts (and perhaps saving them) especially since there's custody stuff involved. I could register a new name but it took me almost 5 years to get to 1000 posts and I'd like to not start over. Will this be possible anytime soon? Thanks.

By the way, there's a directory of primitive name-changes in the DUmping Ground here.

1. I don't think we are going to be doing a username-change amesty anytime soon.

Perhaps we might do one after the 2012 election. Typically that is when we do them.

The other option is for you to create a completely new account. When someone has a good reason to do so, we will typically grant their wish to have their donor status and post count transferred over. Your situation sounds like this might be the appropriate thing to do.

Wait, what?  Why is that?  Could it be that you expect the DUmp goons to make complete fools of themselves, acting in ways unbecoming a loving, compassionate, peaceful democrat, that you'll have to put them into the identity protection plan?

Good advice would be to never post anything online that could be used against you in custody suit, or any other legal proceedings.

Damn right.

Or anything that might embarrass, if one's running for city council in a red city.

And that piece of honesty, which I have not seen before, certainly explains a lot when it comes to posters who seem familiar yet come from nowhere.

Or anything that falsely claims a restaurant to be infested with bugs, if you want to keep working there.

You know, I was thinking about having a "biggest event on Skins's island" award along with the top primitives of 2011, and the bitter old Vermontese cali primitive slandering her employer and losing her job because someone from Skins's island (not any of us--someone from Skins's island) reported her.

That was surely a top event on Skins's island in 2011.

But I dropped the idea, because there's an awful lot of award-writing ahead as it is.

Maybe a new one "The Wally" in honor of the year's best Wallduding of oneself? Or does that already exist?  I have a mind like a sieve for these type things.  I don't know the Golden Globe from the CMA or KMA awards.  I do try to keep up on the Darwin's but even that has become a challenge.

It'll be in the official nomination thread to be posted sometime Sunday, but it doesn't hurt to give a sort of "sneak preview" of what's in it.

There'll be awards for the top twenty primitives (primitives 11-20 in one thread, primitives 01-10 in their own individual threads), and the Willie, the newbie, the broken elbow, and the golden bouncy awards.

That's fifteen pieces of literary material franksolich'll have to put out in fourteen days.....

I can only recall two walldudings in 2011, cali and her earwigs, and Raven getting canned after posting about the ignorant fundies she worked for up there in Rindge, NH. Now she's the only Rindgeonian in that little socialist enclave who doesn't work for the city.

Cali admitted her wallduding, but Raven DUmmied up.

Gee I wonder why the ex is fightin' for custody? Just bein' a member of the DUmpster seems to me to be enough cause for the judge!
